Is it just me or does Kenneth Tigar have an incredibly sexy voice for narration? If I could use this opening bit as my ring tone, I so would. For those not in the know, Tigar played Father Myers in P2. God created woman.
And after several million years of practice, he created yours.
A diamond is forever.

Yeah, diamonds are forever.....but so are the payments.
His blood curdling screams from P2 are definitely a high point.

The crucifix chain around the priest's neck and the crucifix inverted in that scene made one think for a moment the scene was satanic in nature but am i right as saying that tall man is not from satan or god but from something else?

Yep, The Tall Man is atheistic, the reason it was upside down was just gravity, he just remarked that Myers came to him instead of Heaven because he didn't feel like specifically stating "Heaven or hell"

So in other words, the tall man is evil but his evil has nothing to do with satan, right? I have always wondered if there was something else in dimensions other than heaven or hell, like something different that exists.

hey Dustin, you think its possible to give us some more insight on the alternate confrontation between Father Meyers and The Tall Man? I've always wanted to see this scene, maybe some screen caps and a quick video if you got 'ems. I've always enjoyed the original scene and found it one of the most powerful scenes The Tall Man has in P2. i believe the alternate scene goes something like this: Father Myers calls him "The Devil". The Tall Man replies "Ah, a person from your mythology. Too bad, not even he can help you priests." i know those arnt the exact lines, as they were copied lines from imdb.
i've been looking to see this for a long time.

I say that because the final confrontation is pretty much how Coscarelli wrote it in the script. I can never remember if Myers' line "You're the devil himself!" made it into the film as he scurries away, but it was in the original script. If this was removed for the film, then it would make the Tall Man's numerous responses confusing. Any alternate lines beyond that, including the Tall Man's numerous quips, were all improvised by Angus Scrimm on the day of shooting. We only know of these alternate lines because people like Angus Scrimm and Kristen Deem (our own 'Deeminator', who was there that day) have told us about them. I believe the alternate lines may be below (these might be from a Worlds of Horror issue I'm citing from memory). Something tells me that there was a fourth line related to me at some point, but it escapes me just right now. That second line is so silly that I'd be surprised if it got beyond rehearsal. Father Myers: You're the devil himself! (runs away) The Tall Man: Ah, a figure from your mythology. Father Myers: You're the devil himself! (runs away) The Tall Man: A poor relation. We never talk about that side of the family. Father Myers: You're the devil himself! (runs away) The Tall Man: Your underestimate me, priest.

Father Myers: You're the devil himself! (runs away) The Tall Man: Ah, a figure from your mythology. I must say, I like that one. It kind of hints that you cannot comprehend or categorize the Tall Man within existing human belief systems, he is truly alien, beyond easy comprehension or understanding. He is not part of any cosy anthropocentric world-view, he is from outside our realm of understanding, just as the concept of a biologist dissecting ants is itself beyond the comprehension of the ants involved. From the outside, he looks in on our beliefs and customs and rituals with passive interest, occasionally deigning low enough to show mild contempt for them, like an "enlightened" European looking down the animist superstitions of a stone-age jungle tribe. And like a Colonial European trying to gain leverage over the locals, he occasionally uses these superstitions to his advantage (e.g. Spanish conquistadores terrifying "primitive" Indians with "magic" mirrors to trick them out of their gold; the Tall Man using mankind's funerary rituals and superstitions of death to smokescreen his nefarious purposes).
