Phantasm II is now of fearnet for those who don't know (or care), as are ALL FOUR Toxic Avenger movies!
Watching PII though just kinda agrivated me though; it connects to the first movie, which was great, so well and just seems to have an incredible feel, plot, and atmosphere, and yet all of this seems to go out the window next movie, and Phantasm IV accomplishes very little in terms of plot; it was more like a Phantasm movie made for the hell of it.
For the record the Toxic Avenger flicks are pretty d**n entertaing! So badly made and lowbrow that it's just plain funny, which was clearly it's goal.

I had FearNet for a few months & suddenly don't have it anymore. At least I have Chiller in its place now.

Oblivion has tons of plot development.
If anything, P2 has the least.

Phantasm II is pretty much the action flick of the series with Phantasm III pretty much behind it in action...and comedy.
I can take to Phantasm II easily because I love action flicks.

I love it either way. It's fun to watch and you don't have to worry about disecting the film.
But IMHO, Oblivion is the most complex of all 4.

What really happened in Oblivion when you think about it? Reggie held a few shanagans while Mike sat in a desert and uncovered a halfassed origin story. Yes it is the most complex, thats for sure, but what is there to uncover? The orignal movie ended with a shroud of mystery but in a totally sensicle way; there were several theories and most all equally accurate and usually felt rewarding. Oblivion is the fourth entry in the franchice only now it streaches the mystery of the last 10 minutes brought to Phantasm 1 from cover to cover of Phantasm IV; to me theres a difference in elaborate plotting and just leaving stuff vague and calling it a mystery.
Phantasm II wasn't really an action flick; it was just fast paced and linear. But it brought a lot to the table and had an amazing atmosphere and feel, plus LeGros was an incredible Mike and Reggie was at his best, as was The Tall Man. Not having Jody left room for a lot more with the characters and Liz was a very intreaging character. This entry also had the best score without a doubt. And since the series has yet to really end, this one for sure had the best ending.

I consider Phantasm II as an action movie or at least partially an action movie since the series itself contains elements from various genres of film. It may not be something like Commando but has action elements in it. It was more horror & sci-fi than anything else though.
Quad-barrelled shotgun. Check. Flamethrower. Check. Exploding cars. Check. Exploding houses. Check.

I miss FearNet. I wish I still had it. It'd be nice to have both FearNet & Chiller but I guess I shall settle for Chiller.

I watched it a couple of nights ago even though I have it on VHS. I'm wondering since some movies that happen to pop up on Fearnet seem to get a DVD release not too long after maybe this means something? See Night of the Creeps is finally getting a dvd release and it had been on Fearnet not too long before that happened. Just things to ponder and hope for

It would have on its own, but the P2 screening Don and Angus hosted just now cancels it out because 2 positives=a negative.

I know stuff like The Burning, The Monster Squad, & now Night of the Creeps has aired on some of the horror channels in the past with new transfers & whatnot. Two of the three are out on DVD with the other on the way.
