It's in Pasadena at the very top of Lake Ave. Check out Sean Clark's location article at Dread Central or just google Sean's name. Or if you have the issue of Horrorhound from a couple months ago, that's got the article too.

The gates are a swell location from the film. I visited them earlier this year with Guy Thorpe (1hearseman, of course) and Kristen Deem (postmortem). The first shot is of us three and the second is a MUST for any visiting fan, as mirai demonstrated. You simply must climb onto the gates for a photo op.

Very nicely done Mirai!!! Just be very careful, the last time anyone seen or heard from the Fortunetellers grandaughter was right after she went thru those very gates!!!!

Very cool! So many people have been at the gates recently. I think it must be a bigger "Phantasm" pilgramage than Dunsmuir! Eventually , the Cobb Estate owners will post a sign: [glow=red,2,300]NO TRESPASSING This means YOU "Phantasm" fans! Stay OFF the gate![/glow] ;D On a fun note, there are hiking trails beyond the gates. I haven't gotten up the nerve yet (poison oak back there), but... supposedly the forest within is haunted. I kid you not! Here is the link: www.strangeusa.com/ViewLocation.aspx?locationid=205

How far is it from San Diego/Escondido? Can I get there easily from I-15N or So.? When are the gates open?
( Looks like about a 2 hour ride from where I would be. But still I would like to know when the gates are open. Seems like it's always closed whenever someone takes a pic).
