First off I want to say....I am PROUD to be the first to post in this category....of the first...and IMHO the best version of the series. Sometimes I just kick back...and play my guitar...stopping occasionally and getting out my trusty tuning fork to keep it in tone. While doing so I drift back to those days....which seem ooh so long ago. How great it was to just worry about how much ice cream I was selling. Or which babe I was going to try to hook up with. I would give anything to pound Dos XX with Jody again.....aaaahhh memories.

it isn't my favorite as i do like the visuals that came later on. but it was what got me into it plus the soundtrack is a total classic.

Certainly the most suspenseful out of the four I think.

I started out liking P2 alot more than P1 but as I've watched them more I just have grown to like P1 the best of the series.
I don't know if it's the 70's culture or what but it has something about it you just don't get in other movies.

P1 just has the initial "grab you by the balls" power. The story hooks you in from the beginning...and at the end of the movie you just get hooked into the rest of the series.

P1 is by far my favorite of the series. Not saying I don't love the others, as I do... but the original Phantasm has a quality to it that isn't easy to capture.
I miss young Mike.

I think P1 is my favorite of all. I first watched P1 since I was about 8 years old and have been following them ever since. It's a great classic movie and it a shame that the other film makers don't make them like they used to.

P1 is way more of an emotional movie than P2. It deals a lot more with Mike's feelings than any of the others.

First, I would like to say that some dos equis would be fabulous. More importantly, however, I do think P1 is the best movie by far in this series. It just had it's own eerie, unique feel that I thought wasn't there in the sequels. By part three, the Tall Man wasn't scary anymore. I am still a huge fan of the rest of the series. but P1 can't be touched.

Def wary of the Tall Man. I believe i mis-spoke. He didn't seem as mean and sinister. Thanks for correcting me my Ice Cream Man.

Phantasm I was the best and my personal favorite. I always loved the music. The best horror movies always have great music to set the mood.

The music was def the greatest. I liked it in the rest of the films, but the score in P1 can't be touched.

P1 is way more of an emotional movie than P2. It deals a lot more with Mike's feelings than any of the others. I definitely agree. I think the problems of Mike Pearson are easy to empathize with. It's why we care about Mike when we see him getting involved with this shady Tall Man fellow.

I agree, they don't make them like they used to. I'm looking forward to part 5, even though I thought IV ended perfectly. But that quick flash in Reggie's dream of Mike looking like The Tall Man peeked my interest. The original is by far the best through, complete 70's classic and very ahead of it's time. I felt so bad for the Mike character through the series. But everything about these movies are what fans really should look for in horror.
