I was thinking that if in the day when this story was being written or later on when Don made the film, what would the film have been like if the Tall Man was younger (in his 30's or 40's)?? Putting aside that if we had a younger Tally, then Angus would not have been in line for the role - or if the idea of no Angus is too much to bear, then imagine he was 20 yrs younger- would anyone here have preferred the character to be a younger one? I think part of the menacing element of the Tall man is that the white hair and well travelled look (no offence Angus ) is a great part of the overall charachter. However, a younger Tally could bring about whole new elements of fear from the physical side. Maybe a bulkier build maybe although not too over the top. I'm not talking Kane Hodder here. Or running for instance. I think we only ever see him run once or twice (although from what I've seen, running in platform shoes would be difficult). What would you prefer??

Well I think he did look pretty youthful in the original. He didn't even have white hair... more of a dark gray. Honestly, my opinion is that it doesn't matter the age of Angus. He plays the role of the Tall Man so incredibly perfectly, that he IS the role, no matter what age.

Well I think he did look pretty youthful in the original. I agree. I think he was 50 when they were filming P1. He did his own stunts and he ran pretty fast after Mike. I sometimes wondered if he had to slow down a little so he wouldn’t actually catch Mike Sometimes I read the comments in the YouTube videos and I laugh when a person will say “he’s still alive, he was old when I was a kid”. I never thought of him as old in P1 just really scary.

Intersting thread.
I happen to feel that Angus looked fairly youthful in the original, especially when he was hauling tail after Mike. That's when he's at his scariest, I think. I liked his P1 look the best, the gray hair and strong demeanor.

Angus said if he played it again he would be more sinister. I like him now and he is more scarier than Boris Karloff ever was. The evil grin in the Alamo Drafthouse scene proves it without a doubt, he can be scarier than ever.
