Looks incredible! Would it be possible to make the dawn/dusk skies have some deep oranges like real life?

Absolutely beautiful stuff! I agree with Tony's suggestion--any way to make the sunset's more colorful? I saw some gorgeous sunrises and sunsets out there, against the Alabama Hills, that I will never forget. The desert can be magnificent.
So weird to see the hanging tree vista recreated virtually! You really did a wonderful job! I spent a lot of dusty hours in that place during October 1997 and will never forget pulling up handfuls of staked spacegates and loading them into the truck (with Don Coscarelli) after a long day's filming on the Owen's Lake bed (Don was really good about chipping in on physical labor when necessary). The wind was blowing and dust was battering away at us (I was squinting, tears in my eyes). We were racing against time because the sun had gone down, and the sky (a glorious sunset of purples and orange) was getting very dark very quickly. Once the sun went down it go so inky black out there. With no moonlight, it was impossible to walk around. The stars at night were glorious, but the ground became just an ocean of utter darkness.

I placed lots of space gates in this valley as well, It has never occured to me that the people actually involved with phantasm would see my artwork let alone appreciate it, it's kind of surreal to me. but I'm humbled and greatful. I have quite a bit built and made from P IV that you may be familar with then my friend, exploring these places on your computer in a virtual world should be quite interesting. especially with my own take and twists on things, for gameplay purposes obviously. But It's coming along nicely, and with lots of detail that I'm known for. Answer to the Big question..... YES I can add colors to the sunset. matter of fact I look forward to it as it will make it better. also currently working on Jebidiah's office. I have about 75-80% of the perigord mortuary interior completed. I still need to add the basement.

I put in a sunset/sunrise of sorts to where the sky glows before the sun comes up an orange then at sunset a bright orange to a red then fades into night. I suppose it looks ok. I'll see about making a video of it. and the space gates in my death valley level is around 500, you may need more than one truck to take those away..

My jaw dropped at seeing Jeb's laboratory! You really are doing an excellent job of this! I can't tell you how eerie it is seeing real places from my life rendered like a computer game! It is, as you said, humbling and gratifying! For added moodiness, you might want to darken the lab just a tad, put a candle on the wall and add in some shadows cast by candlelight. I keep wanting to reach out and touch those buggy wheels on the wall again! Many fond memories here from November 1997. I remember the daylight scenes when Mike first arrives in the room, the camera crew were all perch way up high, over one of the walls. And I was the only one in the room with Mike, hiding under Jeb's rolltop desk, taking notes and timing the shot. It was so... weird. Like I'd stepped into the world of "Phantasm" in real life, sitting on that faux redwood floor. Fun too! ;D
Keep up the fine work. And thank you!

Here's another one for you. I had to lighten it up because initially it was too dark and nobody would have been able to see the details I'm putting in. That's why the above pic is so bright... But here's some more progress I'm making on it so far. you can see side by side one darker and one more lit. lighting is a pain in UDK but I'm still learning how to use it properly. Doom 3 was much easier to work with but this is still fun to make here in this Unreal development kit. (UDK) platform.

The butterfly collection totally made me burst out laughing! You got that right too! :-D I see that Jeb's family photos are missing and he's got a plush maroon chair now at his desk... Does this mean the Tall Man has taken up residence? We had an animal skull or too on the book shelves, as I recall. And a bizarre black "coffin chair" (that I would often sit in which reciting Jody's voiceover lines aloud while filming Jeb)--the chair wound up in a horror series, the "death chair" or something of the episode's title. There was also a violin and a small xylophone on top of the medicine chest to the left of Jeb's desk. All indications of Jeb's experiments with sound waves. And there was a clock on the wall to the right of Jeb's desk with a pendulum that was still. , our 1st AD, would tap it, setting it into motion, before every take. Funny how all these is coming back to me! The power of seeing it in your screen grabs! Good work! Really truly enjoying these!

Bladeghost, If you ever need reference images for *any* Phantasm set, shoot me an e-mail as I may be able to help. Not sure if you're still tweaking Jebediah's lab or not, but I'll pass along the following screen grabs of his lab which are strikingly similar to your own recreation. These come from Guy Thorpe's set footage (you all just wait until I get Guy's JEB footage online. Way cool! I plan on uploading the long delayed P2 Premiere footage tomorrow!) Your Jeb's Lab recreation so far is very impressive!! You even got the butterfly collection right! The Coffin chair Kristen speaks of can be seen below.

Love the Jeb pics from Guy's set footage. When I first saw P4, that entire Jeb scene freaked me out. Angus was perfect for that role.

WoW that helps tremendously! Thanks Dustin as I may need some reference points on a few things and areas. In this one posted I can now see whats on the other side as I had to guess before, I have the skulls I just didn't show that in the pics, I'll make a walkaround video soon. The violin and xylophone I didn't see at all ,only some bottles and papers. I'll make those soon enough. From what I can see theres a second butterfly collection,Ill add that, and the chemistry bench is up against the wall. All these little things are important to give a proper recreation and a feeling of being there. As for the Plush chair that is just a place holder until I model a correct one. The coffin chair? hmm I'll try and see what I can come up with on that. The mortar and pestle and other little details will be forth coming soon, it takes time to build these things, what I had built before for the doom 3 mod isn't as detailed as I'm making for this. Soon I'll post up some new stuff of the sunset and jebs lab in a video preview, Thanks everyone! Your input is invaluable and extremely helpful! more soon stay tuned...
