I never saw the movie but someone pointed out the slight similarity of the P1 and NOES 2010 ending.

I 've never seen those movies with freddy kruger, I've heard about them but haven't seen them, just by watching that snippet, It clearly shows that phantasm was an influence of sorts. at least that's what I believe.

I've seen several of the Freddy Movies (The first few - my sister was a fan of them). And admittedly, I liked them. I thought they were "okay". Great? Not in my book. But to each their own!

Yeah, there were a lot of similarities between Phantasm and the original NOES. However, I wasn't expecting the remake to keep the similarities. (I still haven't seen the remake, though.)

Yah know, for the life of me, i cannot wrap my mind about remakes to save me ass!! Why do a freakin' remake when you can choose a different facet on the story and tell another chapter?? The only two remakes i came close to actually liking was Amityville Horror (it seemed more intense, i dunno maybe it was the updated special effects, personally i still like part 2 from '83 better) and Rob Zombies Halloween 1 (haven't seen 2). I liked the fact that Zombie didn't just kill the original, he added onto it with letting us see what drove Michael Myers into this killing frenzy, he expanded the story instead of just rehashing it. Friday the 13 remake, what a waste! Couldn't tell it from the original stories, NOTHING different!! How many ways to kill a horny teenager same ol' same ole!! On a side note, when i was at Fright Night Fest '08, someone in front of me asked one of the original Halloween girls (don't know which one) did she see the remake of Halloween and she replied, "yes, too bloody for me." LOL, we all get softer i guess as we get older, 25 years ago, the "old" people were telling her the same thing about her "new" movie, lol!!
