ok i just received in the mail my copy i ordered last week.
and i noticed some differences.
the track list seems to be rearranged compared to the early 90's release that is out of print.
and i never thought i would say this but in this case the remastering didn't help.
it sounds a bit too clean now.
don't get me wrong it sounds good but compared to the original Silva Screen version it does to my ears pales in comparison.
here is the track listing for the original not including the P2 re recorded suite.
1.Intro and Main title
2.Welcome to Morningside/Hand in box
3.Hearse Inferno
4.Phantasmagoria/Silver Sphere Disco
5.Tender Interlude
6.Cemetary Spectres
7.Spacegate To Infinity/Jody At Morningside/On The Move
8.Phantasm Atmosphere
9.The Tall Man On Main Street
10.Funeral Organ/Dwarf In Hearse
11.Under The Car
12.Mike On The Road
13.Hearse Chase
14.A Dwarf Named Buford
15.Overturned Ice Cream Truck
16.Mine Shaft Chase
17.Just A Dream ?
18.End Of Game (Or Is It ?)
and here is the track list for the newer version available at the official Phantasm site.
1.Main Title
2.Welcome to Morningside/Hand in Box
3.Mineshaft Chase
4.Phantasmagoria/Silver Sphere Disco
5.Hearse Inferno
6.Cemetary Spectres
7.Spacegate To Infinity
8.Jody at Morningside/Just a Dream ?
9.Phantasm Atmosphere
10.The Tall Man On Main Street
11.Funeral Organ
12.Under The Car
13.Mike on the Road
14.Hearse Chase
15.Overturned Ice Cream Truck
16.End of Game
17. Or Is It (outtakes)
the last track that is outtakes appears to be brief parts combined that were separate tracks on that older cd release.
now don't get me wrong i am not trashing this release as i am glad i bought it to have a official copy again after my older version was stolen years ago.
but i must say the older early 90's Silva Screen cd version is a superior version soundwise.
also i just got use to hearing it in the order it was on that one.
regardless, if you don't own the soundtrack i still recommend ordering the newer version as who knows how long that will stay in print as well.
ok there is my review/opinion.
feel free to disagree or agree with anything i posted.
