it was either 80 or 81 on broadcast tv. i remember sitting on the floor watching tv and the movie came on and i was spellbound by the music score and weird/creepy feel to it. i would have been around 11 years old at the time. was born in 69.

I saw Phantasm my first time when I was in 7th grade... that would be in 1996. At least I think that was the first time... it could be a couple years earlier, I'm not positive at the moment.

I saw Lord of the Dead around '94 when it came out on tape. It's the first Phantasm movie I saw in its entirety. I saw bits & pieces of Phantasm II a year or two earlier on TV. It was the scene where Father Meyers meets his end.
I saw the first & second shortly after & have been a phan ever since.

Ah yes when metaliica was once underground yep the 80's did you know they made a trivial pursuit of the 80's / i have it no but that doesn't surprise me. was lucky enough to see Metallica open for Ozzy in 86 just before Cliff died. great show and it was one of the few shows i had 2nd row or better. saw Metallica headline in 89 then saw them in 94 but walked out as the sound was awful as my seats were on the lawn plus they were doing far too many medleys.

I first laid eyes on P1 back in March 1979, opening week at the Valley Drive-in in Oceanside, CA. I probably saw it about 5 times at that drive-in before it finally went to a walk in theater in the next town of Carlsbad. I even took my tape recorder to the drive-in and recorded the entire film on cassette tape to listen to at home!

Hey I'm a 1969 er' too. I'm a piesces (whatever . Let's all put on the Fifth Dimension and spin around in circles. ;D But anyway. I saw the first Phantasm around 80' or 79' on HBO. Pretty late at night. I even remember the picture in the HBO guide, it was tight cropped shot of Angus right before he said "Boy!!!!" at the end of the film.

Saw it on the big screen when it was first released- the dwarves scared the hell out me. That's why I love the film so much- whenever I watch it, it's like a time machine back to that year.
