Wow, very cool Dustin! I can't wait to get some more time to check out everything in the site. From what I've seen so far, I'm impressed!

Wow, the site design is pretty cool, and I just have to say that I love Shostrom's work. I like how the older movies stick mainly to make-up and puppeteering with the use of electronics. To me, it looks more realistic compared to a cgi monster. And I think that Shostrom really brings out the realism in his work.

Thanks kindly, Nat and I couldn't agree more with you about the old movie effects. It's a level of quality that CG so often falls short of. Lotsa pics by Kristen very nice!, however the pics could be larger? Afraid not - we very intentionally made the pictures the size they were. It's to protect the ones from Mark's personal collection (and from numerous other folks like Kristen, Robert Kutzman, etc.) from being swiped and used elsewhere. I once hosted higher-resolution versions of Mark's pics on the Archives and then the UK's Gorezone came along and swiped them without asking or crediting Mark for that infamously bad article on Phantasm (the one that mentioned the "Pearson Bothers", anyone remember that?) It'd be one thing if they were press kit photos or official studio pics, which are promotional in nature, but they're not. We'd like to think these pics were special.

Dear Dustin, Beautiful website and work by you and Shostrom! The site looks incredibly professional and eyecatching! I hope it lands Mark lots of SPFX work--because his ultra-realistic makeup talents are definitely needed in a Hollywood that has come to rely too easily on CGI. As a Trekkie, I am also very impressed by Mark's involvement with Trek over the years, as well as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," etc. Lotsa pics by Kristen very nice!, however the pics could be larger? Thank you very much for noticing, Bladeghost. I was so excited to be around and take these shots (and often had to fight to keep the negatives--an artistic prerogative). Mark was a gentleman in letting me snap away--whilst I juggled dog duty with Cappy, Angus' Westie. Does me proud to see these photos finally coming to light in such positive ways. More to come later when Dustin finishes his project.

Where I worked at one time upstairs we had a sculpter that would make cool stuff with molds and castings, first starting off with a styrofoam base and fibreglass made some cool stuff. I know first hand that making molds and casting is a lot of hard work and hats off to those that work so hard to achieve their projects to completion. As for pics being sized, that's totally understandable.

I do remember that crummy article, that still haunts me to this very day. Aside from the fact they stole photographs, it was really bad journalism and spelling. And they made stuff up too! It's a great site Dustin and you must have put a ton of hours in to do. Well done, can't wait to get back into it to have more of a look round. Good job.

I used to really admire Kirk when I was a kid. But after I saw the ST:TNG episode "Inner Light" I realized how profound and touching Picard could be. I even purchased a Ressikan flute replica recently! Hoping to see Patrick Stewart at a con next month. How about you, Kirk or Picard?

I`m more of a "Tally",than a Trekkie, but my favorite Enterprise captain is James Tiberius Kirk.I grew up watching TOS in reruns and loved it.I just could not get into TNG.

Recent Trekkie here... and I gotta go with TOS and Kirk. Granted, I haven't watched much of TNG, but for me the cheesy effects and classic sci-fi feel of TOS cannot be topped. Plus, no one beats Mr. Spock.

After seeing the TNG episode "Chain of Command" opposite David Warner, he wipes the floor with everybody else. Ever. Go Picard!

I can't access the website... To anyone looking for Mark Shostrom's website, it switched addresses a while back. You can now find it at: markshostrom.comIt still has all of the Phantasm sequel treasures the old website had - the dozens of behind-the-scenes photos, the articles, etc. If you've never checked it out, have a look-see. : )
