I know Universal made "Legacy" collections of the old Monster movies. I own Dracula, Frankenstein, & The Creature From the Black Lagoon. Universal's Legacy version of Phantasm II would probably just include a nice transfer & no special features. Maybe a trailer & cast/crew bios. as much as we would wet ourselves over a cram jam SE, it would be better than nothing. But, monkeys will fly out of my butt before either happens.

Phantasm II: The It's Finally on DVD Edition
Technical: -Restored and Remastered (DiviMax quality) -5.1 Sound (Dolby or DTS or whatever) -Widescreen transfer (1:85:1 or original ratio) -Subtitles
Disc 1: -Original Audio Commentary from Anchor Bay UK with Don Coscarelli, Reggie Bannister, and Angus Scrimm -New Audio Commentary with Paula Irvine, James LeGros, (Samantha Phillips), Reggie Bannister, someone from the crew, Michael Baldwin (so he can actually watch the movie) and Angus Scrimm -Photo Galleries -Cast and Crew Bios -Theatrical Trailer -TV Spots
Disc 2: -"Phantasmagoria II"- Taken from the complete Phantasmagoria documentary in the R2 sphere; since they separated the first movie I figured they could do the same with this (and assuming they do the same with a new Phantasm III in a US box-set when Phantasm V comes out) *Note that I have not seen this
-"The BALL is BACK!"- Featurette with Don Coscarelli and others on what brought upon this sequel after 9 years with no intention of making it and the return of the legendary silver spheres (also goes into detail on what they did defferently with the spheres in this film)
-Vintage Cast and Crew interviews from 1988
-NEW Cast and Crew interviews, including James LeGros and Paula Irvine, on working with the actors and on the film
-"Phantasm Redux" (or "Phantasm Reborn")- Small documentary on how Phantasm II expended every quality on the first such as special effects and the beyond amazing new score. Also discusses the inclusion of Universal Studios and their "interfearence" and the films eventual poor box-office performance
-"Phans on Phantasm II"- interviews with fans and filmmakers on how Phantasm II has become such a favorite by many who even conceder it as good as the original classic
-Joe Bob Briggs 'Monstervision' skits and review (as seen on TNT) of Phantasm II; also an interview with him and possibly Don Coscarelli or someone discussing what he thinks of the Phantasm series and a fifth movie (I know he loved 1 & 2 and liked P3 but I have yet to hear what he thinks of P4)
-Special effects featurette talking about all the special effects in the film, specificly The Tall Man's classic almost demise
-Deleated Scenes: Scenes from the workprint that did not make it into the final film
-The 90-minute behind the scenes thing on the bootleg floating around
Thats just an idea I have. Do you guys think it's good? I may edit again but for now tell me what you think.
Some of the featurettes have probobly already been covered in Phantasmagoria but I have not seen Phantasmagoria (aside from the stuff on the first Phantasm in the American DVD) so yeah...on that note, I don't get why Anchor Bay didn't take what was talked about on the other sequels from Phantasmagoria and put them on their DVD's (for III & IV). Maybe Anchor Bay could just realease it by itself, like with Halloween: 25 Years of Terror? Anyway, I listed this on IMDb a while ago and while it's too good to ever come true (d**n you world), it's an idea.

"Phantasm II: The It's Finally on DVD Edition"
I LOVE this title and it's very fitting!!
Those would be some great extras and all to have on it I agree. I'd be happy at this point with a bare bones edition as long as it gets out there for R1.

The P2 commentary is great. Love listening to it.
