To answer Lupus about which Fright Night i hated, yes it was the remake. The original is a classic. I watched the "Rise of The Planet of The Apes' remake and i really like it. I can't compare it to the original though, i have never seen any of them.

Watched the last Harry Potter:The Deathly Hallows 2. I'm not a fan of this series, but i have watched them all and i did find the last 3 the most interesting as they got progressively darker.

Absolutely loved the story and the music for the final HP movie, most especially Snape's backstory. Alan Rickman was superb.

Yeah, Snape was my favorite character out of the story. Daniel Radcliff's new movie "Woman in Black" is out today (2-3-12). Thinking about going and seeing that...but then again, Star Wars Ep. 1 in 3D is out next weekend and i definitely wanna see that.

Took my Grandchildren to see Star Wars Ep. 1 in 3D this past weekend. We had a load of fun, and i gotta say for a 5 yr. old and a 3 yr. old, they did very well! They were very quiet, respectful, & attentive, and i was very proud.

Netflix is evil.
I may never leave my apartment again.
All the episodes of Battlestar Gallactica, 24, Star Trek, X Files....Stand Up comedy, National Geographic specials.
Found these horror flicks pretty good.
The Keep - weird, really different, great soundtrack
The Sentinel - w/ Chris Sarandon. Now I know why I don't like New Yorkers!!! jk
Black Death - makes you think

So true. I'm on a "Lost" marathon. Not to mention all the cool old films available on Netflix's DVD archives. ;D

Netflix has just come to the UKand we signed up for it as well. I find the interface a little poor as you have to faff about trying to find the full list of what they have, but so far some good choices. A lot of poor ones knocking about though. A little quality control would be nice. We've watched all of the "Scary Movie" films of late.

It would be nice to have Sci-Fi A to Z or horror movies A to Z. Critically acclaimed scary british movies? ;D The devil is in the details. It seems everything that use to be simple is now more complicated or involved because of so called "smart" tech.

I caught part of Murders in the Rue Morgue the other night, an older movie based on Poe's work. I liked it enough that i would like to see all of it. I also caught an older version (possibly British) of Sweeney Todd, and i thought it looked good and was well done.

Best British horror movies? Most are the old Hammer Horror with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. The Wicker Man is fantastic too. I was pleasantly surprised with The Woman in Black recently with Daniel Radcliffe, which was also a Hammer Horror (although now the company has changed hands). Dr Phibes, The Devil Rides Out, Masque of the Red Death, The Omen, Quatermass and the Pit are all great older movies.
More recent ones which are a bit more light hearted are: Dog Soldiers, The Cottage, Severence, Shaun of the Dead.
Ones you may not think are British: Dust Devil, Alien, Aliens, Hellraiser, Hellraiser 2
There are a few to keep you going. Is that OK?

Friend of mine just lent me the original "Wicker Man", and "Dust Devil" is in my queue. Really like "The Omen", especially David Warner. Don't remember the sequels. "Aliens" however.... I know it was produced in England, but I think James Cameron being American and after firing a bunch of the English crew over "tea break" (the idea of "tea time" I kinda like), should be considered an American film. But yeah, those are OK. USA! ;D.....USA! ;D.....USA! ;D......

I was going for the fact that it was made entirely in the UK, so that was my angle. Just trying to wedge that one in there but I'll let that one slide I suppose The Omen 3 is good. I really like Sam Neill as an actor and that was one of his earlier ones. In the Mouth of Madness is great too. Really like Jurgen Prochnov too. anyway here's a long list of horror films made in the UK for your perusal... www.britishhorrorfilms.co.uk/films.shtml

Thanks Steve, i did not know that Hellraiser was Brit, but that is cool! I really like that series. I have not seen them all and the other night Hellraiser Inferno was on and i really liked the way it started out. I did not get to watch but about 15-25 minutes of this and i really want to check the rest of it out. The Omen was good and i really liked Dog Soldiers. I like anything with Cushing and Lee in it. Have you seen "And Now the Screaming Starts", or Cushing as Sherlock Holmes? Both very good and yes, i liked "Wicker Man". Off the subject here, but last movie i watched was "Valkerie", i thought it was good...

Clive Barker is from Liverpool (where the Beatles are from if you've never heard of the place). I've never seen "And Now the Screaming Starts" although I am aware of Cushing as Holmes.
I've not seen Valkerie, I hate Tom Cruise. It's a shame because the rest of the cast is really good. Not sure how close to the actual events it's supposed to be, but I know a little of the history
I saw "Nohing to lose" last night with Tim Robbins and Martin Lawrence, as there was nohing else on. It was an OK comedy. Very 90's

Not sure myself on the finer points of "historical accurateness" in Valkerie, knowing hollywood it's was probably way off course. I'm sure at some later date hollywood will digitally add a ufo picking up Tom Cruise and doing a 5 movie spinoff that has nothing to do with the attempted assassination. Anyone bother seeing Smith's remake of "Karate Kid" ? Wow, exactly like the first, except it's Kung Fu, it takes place in China, and not one character OR story plot has anything REMOTELY to do with the original!! Are you KIDDING me???!!! Why the hell would you pay for the rights of the original and use the name, but not have anything to do with the original story??? I mean Halloween at least had an interpretation of Michael Myers, and guess what?? The character's name was Michael Myers, how 'bout that??!! On a lighter note, last movie watched was "Wicker Man", the remake with Cage...

Oh god, the Nicholas Cage version was just awful. I avoided the Karate Kid as well, when I found out it was about kung fu. Seems to just contradict itself right from the start. Which is a shame because I like Jackie Chan. Stephen Chow too. If you've no seen Shaolin Soccer or Kung Fu Hustle, then I recommed those.

Valkerie is pretty good. Watch "Collateral", Tom Cruise plays a bad guy (a contract killer), quite effectively I might add. Probably won't change your opinion on him, but definitely shows a different side of his acting capabilities. Just watched "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil", good for some laughs. It was OK. Quite impressed with "The Wicker Man"; especially the inn keeper's daughter.
