Sadly, the PIII ending hasn't been released to anyone. If I remember correctly, only a bit of it was even filmed Out of all the deleted scenes, I'd love to see that one restored the most, if only because it provides a truer sense of closure than part IV...

So, it's just an urban legend?.. Sad... Is it an original script as least: http://phantasm_films.tripod.com/phantasm3a.htm ?
As to deleted scenes. I'd love to see any of them, but as to sense... I don't think even Coscarelli can provide more sense, because it's a mystery even for him, he-he!..

I don't think even Coscarelli can provide more sense, because it's a mystery even for him, he-he!.. The script reads like a legitimate script, so it could be. I don't believe the ending is entirely an urban legend; as I said, I think a bit was filmed, just not the whole thing. Supposedly before he was able to finish, Coscarelli ran over budget and had to re-write the ending so it wouldn't cost as much... As for Coscarelli and the deleted scenes: I heard he actually has the full Phantasm I in his possession. Can't provide a source, I just think I read it once. I don't know about the sequels' deleted footage, although I hope he has it lying around. I'd trust him not to lose or destroy it, unlike a few careless movie studios.

Hey folks. I'm sorry my appearances here have been infrequent of late--just tied up with "real life" things, a little soul searching, some travelling... and OD'ing on Netflix streaming of all seven seasons of "Star Trek: Voyager" episodes. Figured it was finally time to hunker down and see it. Not sure I want to do this with "Enterprise," though... Anyway... That original end scene was no urban legend. It really was in all the scripts. It was a cool idea to me because the Tall Man always had a "The Thing" feeling about his character and laying him to rest in the the arctic seemed very appropriate! Don did film a little of Reg and Tim together, all dressed for the cold (though I wasn't there when this was filmed). I think one reason the scene was nixed was because it was just too costly to go up to Alaska (on location) to film the long shots, etc. Same reason we ended up using the Camarillo estate for Jeb's house, instead of trekking all the way up to Oakland (Dunsmuir) for P4. Back to work for me. Take care, everyone.

The only episode I did enjoy was when Dean Stockwell turned up, so him and Scott Bakula were working alongside each other again. Sadly, a big door of light didn't appear for him to walk through, but still good nevertheless. The scripts just tended to be re-workings of old episodes, so didn't do much for me. Then again, Voyager got on my wick as well. Janeway was too annoying to be watchable. Anyhoo, off to work now as well. Roll on paternity leave!
