I have been obsessed with Phantasm for nearly thirty years, and one of the main reasons were those black 1971 Cudas. I've been a horror and Halloween collector for many years and have been deep into classic car culture all my life because of my Dad. Last year I built a rare 1 of 1, concourse gold 1970 Plymouth AAR Cuda. The car became a national show winner this year and swept the country winning everything, but, I can no longer drive it! I was out in Vegas at a Mopar show and stumbled upon a awesome 71 Cuda body that was in excellent condition. To make a long story short, it is now becoming a exact screen accurate Phantasm 2 HEMI Cuda, and I plan on driving the crap out of this one. I was lucky to find a complete 1969 426 HEMI a few months ago which is now at my engine builder. It's funny the board accepted my request to be a member today, because I am heading to the shop shortly with the body. My paint and body work are done at The Finer Details on Danville Indiana, they are in my opinion the best Mopar restorers in North America. This replica will resemble a true 1971 HEMI Cuda in every way, except for a few small details that make the Phantasm 2 car unique, and I'll get into those later. Here are some photos: I have no idea why my HTML codes will not work on this site, they work on my other forums, so I apologize for the links.

A great looking 'Cuda you got there. Can't wait to hear more about the transformation process you're putting it through to make it more like the movie 'Cuda. Also very cool you got Don to sign the glove box cover. Smart thinking!

Thanks!! Angus was sick! I wanted to see him so bad, maybe next time. I'll start listing the subtle differences in the movie cars soon with the build.

No problem! My photobucket App was the cause of the problems, thanks again, I will be updating the entire build here! This will be one bad mother.. Haha. The hardest part of this project is trying to locate a old set of the Remington tires. A old clean set may or may not pop up over time, but my fingers are crossed.

Hopefully you can get the right tyres, it looks a bit odd with the temporary ones it has on at the minute. I saw this corvette the other day (not sure what model as it was quite a way away), but the sucker had no traction at all, it was pants. Can't wait to see more!

ha, the tires on it are just to roll it around.. those are horrible. It will have the chrome Cragar SS wheels, if anything BF Goodrich Radial TA's, but I would rather find the Remingtons.

I will post progress soon! This takes a lot of time to do a car like this. In the mean time my car build has been added to the official Phantasm Cuda website! Pretty cool! www.Phantasmcudas.com
