In an interview with HorrorCultFilms.co.uk, Don Coscarelli teases big things for 2014, which marks the 35th Anniversary of the original Phantasm. The quote goes like this: And so we’ve been talking about trying to get something together. 2014 is going to be a good year for Phantasm because of the 35th anniversary, if you can believe it, from the release of the original movie. We got a couple of things we’re hooking up, so hopefully this’ll be the year for it.Alright, discouraged phans.... it's going to be "a good year,' got it?? horrorcultfilms.co.uk/2014/02/hcf-exclusive-interview-with-don-coscarelli/

Ugh... he has given the EXACT same answer so many times.
I've got some property for sale if anyone is interested.

Bubba Ho Tep, John Dies At The End and................ ?? Should be interesting, and hopefully not just nostalgic.

You know what would be pretty sweet...to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the original film, perhaps releasing a blu-ray of the original film that includes that three-hour cut. We saw bits and pieces of that footage in Oblivion. I'd LOVE to see ALL the cut footage comprising Don's original intended version. The storage capacity of the blu-ray technology would certainly support this, especially if it was configured using seamless branching.

it's such a beautiful thing about part iv, and definitely makes me hunger for more. i would love to see all that footage cut into the original movie, and blu's of all would be phantastic.

I'd caution phans to be cautiously optimistic rather than super hopeful. I think 2014 will be a good year for Phantasm, but let's not expect part 5 to suddenly appear from nowhere (although it'd be nice!).

I look forward to what 2014 will hold for Phantasm, especially if it also means Blu-rays of the remaining films.

Don put out a cryptic tweet recently stating that he was working with "old phriends" recently with hashtags: #TCB #baby So he's taking care of business and it's his "baby"... Screenshot of Don's Tweet

Who knows what to think anymore. Might be the Bubba sequel, might be the webseries, might be nothing.

After Ravager I hope he works on the next Bubba movie. I thought Bubba Ho-Tep was great and would love to see that explored further.
