Just wondering, is the TM's tie tack just a tie tack?
We learn in P1 after Mike comes back through the space gate, that the TM is making slaves and perhaps using them to conquer other worlds.
In P2, while the TM is hanging the priest with his rosary, the TM says something like 'you dont go to heaven, you come to us'
I also think the TM says something like 'this is a war' or 'we are at war'. Don't remember which installment ATM.
So anyway, this got me thinking that the TM may or may not be the 'top brass' in this inter-dimensional 'war'. Perhaps he is just a cog in the greater machine. Going with this idea, I had thought perhaps his tie tack may indicate rank among his kind, like Colonel,General, etc. or perhaps his level of accomplishment/achievement/adeptness to whatever.
'Employee of the century award for harvesting the most dwarves' lol
Perhaps its just there to keep his tie neat in chase scenes!
Has this ever been discussed here?

Good evening, JB. I've wondered the same thing now for 35 years! lollol Your idea of it indicating military levels (like chevrons) was very clever--never heard that one before! Cool! When I was a kid back in 1979, I used to imagine that the Tall Man's tie pin was an energy or thought focusing device, with which he could control/summon the spacegate. And perhaps mind meld with his dwarves, spheres, etc. I always figured it would light up a brilliant red when in use, and that the red stone was a rock from his home planet/dimension, quite alien to Earth. As for the real tie pin Angus wore, Dustin's book will cover that. Your name/initials of "jbdms"--would they stand for (J)e-(B)e-(D)iah-(M)orning-(S)ide? Just curious. I love solving puzzles! Welcome to the forum! You ask some great questions!

I had just wondered. If you are making a movie, everything you chose to put in there has a reason, i suppose. The tie tack made me think of how many organizations, police, military, scouts, churches, etc. award pins or monikers as you go up in rank.
Cant wait for the book!
Your idea is pretty clever too! Perhaps the red stone is being mined by the dwarves in a 'Dune' sort of way to benefit him and his purpose. If one red stone in a tie tack could control his drones, summon space gates, etc. then the search and attainment of more 'gems' and other deifying elements from other times and dimensions is even better!
Yeah, Jebediah Morningside was already taken so...
I've lurked around in here for a long time. Thought id take the plunge and bug you guys and ladies with all my questions!!
Thanks for all quick responses.
