I found this clip on YouTube, where A. Michael Baldwin talks about James Le Gros returning in part 5 as a kind of alternate universe Mike, as way to explain Phantasm II.
Has there been any indications that this might be the case?

There was a dead LeGros Mike inside a glass trophy case in the Phantasm's End script, I think that's what he's referring to. I very much doubt he'll be in RaVager, but it would be cool. You never know!

I think that would be a neat twist. That way it can explain why there is a different Mike in part 2. James played the part well, but it still bugs me ever so slightly to go from one actor, to a new actor, back to the original.

I don't think Legros will be anywhere in this movie. The guy has distance himself away from the film and according to author of Phantasm Exhumed (interviewed on Deadpit Radio), he was the one that he couldn't get an interview with next to Coscarelli. According to the author, Legros has distance himself to the point where he just doesn't acknowledge he was ever in it. Which is weird since it's the movie that he's most known for.

It's strange that Le Gros seems to not want anything to do with Phantasm but yet he just guest starred on NBC's Constantine and there was a reference to the Tall Man in it. Maybe he's starting to see the light and except the past.

Now this won't hurt a bit. Well, maybe just a little bit.

Baldwin, but thats not his fault.

I saw a video literally 2 days ago of A. M. Baldwin talking about that, sure enough he said he doesn't believe LeGros would even consider it. Meh. Interesting idea, that's for sure. Mike even seems very interested and borderline excited about having read it. Also said it made a lot of sense. Also didn't realize the video at the top haha I'm mobile at the moment!

It might be possible. If I'm not mistaken, we already saw Tall Men from different dimensions/universe. The Red Planet could be the nexus between different realities!
