Hi all, Been a while since I posted on these boards, had to create a new account! So excited for part 5! What questions do you want this film to answer? For me several things spring to mind. 1) What does the Tall man want with his army of dwarves? 2) What is the deal with Mike and the ball in his head? 3) Who the hell was that demon cop in part 4? 4) What about the fortune teller? What is her role in the story? 5) Millions of other things... I am about to rewatch all four movies again so will have more later

Been re-watching them myself. As I was re-watching them I started to remember some little details that I forgot over time.
1) why does The Tall Man turn into the Lady in Lavender?
2) Was the reason why Jedidiah Morningside even ventured into the first spacegate because of his meeting with mike?
3) what happened to Jedidiah?
I've got tons more but I'll stick with 3 since you already asked some of mine.

1) why does The Tall Man turn into the Lady in Lavender? This one I think he does it because sometimes he needs to kill 'special' people. People who have some kind of psychic powers who can somehow further his cause. He lures them out using his sexy blonde form so he can kill them more discreetly. Maybe in part one he lured out Tommy and Jodi because he was trying to get to Mike, knowing Mike had these powers. He eventually did, and stuck the ball in his head... But that's just my idea of course. It could be Don has something more different in mind... we shall see hopefully.

Another question I have. If part one happened, how come Reg didn't remember any of it? I think maybe some of it happened... but most of part one was a dream while Mike was having the ball put in his head... maybe. What do other people think?

What I want to see is more of what lies beyond the space gate. The xenodimensional 'red planet'. What are the drones building out there? Everything else is just incidental: parts of The Tall Man's trickeries.

Always wondered why he never remembered certain things. My thought is that the Reg who does not remember is an alternate universe Reg?

Everything else is just incidental: parts of The Tall Man's trickeries. I'm more curious about whats going on , on the red planet than anything else. I also hope we get to see what Jebediah sees / happens to him the first time he goes through the home made dimensional fork. on a side note, Its almost kind of hard for me to believe that Jebediah had never gone through the fork, or poked his head in there for a peek, the fork was perfectly operational. One theory I have is that the fortuneteller came through the gate kind of like a scout or Jebediah brought her back, and now she has Jebediah held captive. She's calling the shots and preparing him for his role while learning about human death and reanimation. Maybe Jebediah saw mike come through the gate as a free person and thought he could escape the fortuneteller by escaping through the fork. I also would like to find out if Mr. and Mrs. Pearson really died in a crash. Another thing is what happened to the fortunetellers grandaughter and why did she have a mark on her cheek and the fortuneteller, one on her forehead. Plus things you all have mentioned.

i'm new here.
let me preface this by saying that i cannot wait for PHANTASM V, and will be buying it as soon as it's made available.
however, i guess i just wasn't looking for a part 5, and can't get out of thinking that OBLIVION is truly the end of the line. were things unexplained? sure. but to me, just because something is left open/ambiguous, it doesn't mean it isn't over. i've seen PHANTASM IV get a lot of hate, but i loved the movie, and thought it wrapped things up perfectly. what i interpreted to be mike imagining he and reggie driving off into the night as he lay dying was just beautifully done; incorporating those outtakes the way they did... wow. even if P4 relies on the series' cumulative effect to come off, it just worked for me in a way i never expected a late '90s genre movie to work for me.
that said, i fully expect to have a good time with this new one, and i don't think these guys have it in them to sully the PHANTASM name. even so, the fact that don's not in the director's chair will make it even easier for me to consider it separately from the others, should the need arise.
i'm rambling... bring on P5!

First off, spookyencounters... welcome! Happy to have you here at Phantasm Community.
Secondly, I totally get what you're saying. Part 4 did end wonderfully, and my concern is that part 5 will somehow lessen the effect of 4's ending. I suppose time will tell!

Oblivion was far from a perfect film, but it was probably the finest ending to a horror series that I can think of. It brought the pathos, but not so much the action that it needed to. Reggie really got short changed in that one. The main reason I wanted a part V was to see him go out in style. I actually think they should have retired Mike's character. Have him appear as a corpse or cameo, but I don't see how he's gonna get a better ending than he already has. And I hope the Tall Man remains a mystery. As with death and dreams, there are some things we should never understand. Also, I hope this one is scary! I don't even think they were trying to scare us with IV. At least the first three had their moments.

For better or worse I am excited about RaVager, I think there are too many questions that can be raised about a good many subjects, but my tops would be what IS the exact story of the Tall Man character. In reading many of these posts everyone has the same questions I do regarding the fortune teller and Jebediah and such; I would just like to see it all get tied together. I love this series and would like to see it continue, even if it means some characters die off and new ones brought in to continue the fight. Long live Phantasm !!!

1. What did The Tall Man want with the sphere in Mike's head?
2. Why does Mike have the yellow blood?
3. Why did Mike have the sphere in his head?
