In the poster, we obviously see Mike, the tall man and some dwarfs. But who is the person with the frightened face on the left? Its almost the biggest thing on the entire poster, surely it would be of some importance. Mrs. Pearson?? hehe If its not anyone in particular, I'd just guess it was a remnant of concept art or just an image to express fear.

I always figured it was either Sally or Suzy, but that the artist had then changed his mind and attempted to change it to Jody. With the blue skin, I even wondered if the person was dead. My focus has always been on Mike floating in a surreal red sky, and that smirking, much too thin Tall Man with the bizarre red eyes. This poster totally drew me into that theatre that fateful midnight. My poster followed me from dorm to dorm all over the world when I was in college! But the best moment was when I found myself at Dac Coscarelli's home (working on P2 publicity) and saw HIS poster, beautifully framed and on the wall by his office. I was awed by the fact that that poster (art) had "followed" me through the years, from New Jersey in 1979 to California in 1987, from my simple childhood existence where no one but me seemed to know about this film, to the home of Don's father where I was now part of the crew. Life is sure amazing.

You know, I've been puzzling that for ages, and I've come to the conclusion that I just don't know. I think it's female, but that's all.

I think this poster was done early enough, during the time when low budget horror films would often have random screaming faces on them, not necessarily of any character in the film.
Having said that, it does appear to be a woman's face. Could it be the Lady in Lavender?

Yes, for those who walk by the cinema poster and don't spend time reading "if this movie doesn't...", they need some fast visual, telling them this is a horror movie and nothing else, not fantasy, and the screaming face does the job!

Yeah but who the heck is the actress/model? Those eyes are probably not hers, anyway.
