I thought this was a better place to respond to "What do think will happen in part 5", pertaining to a time loop (discussed by several members).
I think this time loop theory was the ending of part IV. Mike and Reg tuned in on another dimension.....the future...thus establishing this "time loop". A never ending, cyclical nightmare.

I noticed this last night. It seems like the Tall Man changes back into Jebidiah right before he goes through the spacegate. Ya know when he looks back for one last time?
This may have been footage shot later on after the main shoot.
His hair has alot more fullness to it...maybe he just changed shampoos.

I have a theory that goes along with that, but it's really hard for me to explain since all this time-traveling thing gets really confusing. It's all within P1, P3, and P4.

A point to ponder on "Just/only the wind..."
Remember the priest in P2 and how he was always calling the strange noises he heard "just the wind", when he knew very well it was NOT "just the wind"?
Maybe we are supposed to know this too.

Please, confuse me, Natalie. The most confusing things to most seem perfectly obvious to me. Trouble is, things that are Perfectly Obvious to most tend to confuse me...so it's a trade-off, I suppose.

And Vitamin, whadya mean stay in this dimension? When there's all these other ones out there? Be like telling a child to stay at home when there's a whole world out there to explore.

I'm like thinking backwards. In P4, Jebediah meets Mike and figures out he went the the dimension fork. So, later on, Jebediah travels through the dimension fork and comes back as the Tall Man, at which he is carrying a sphere. He spots Mike in the room, and then Mike backs into the portal. The Tall Man says, "And so it begins."
At the end of P4, the Tall Man pulls the sphere out of Mike's head and goes through the portal. I'm thinking that back in Jebediah's office when "it is the hour", When the Tall Man comes through with the sphere, that that sphere is the one just pulled from Mike's head. Like the Tall Man traveled from the end of P4 to the part where he's back in the office with Mike and Jody...
I don't know...I'm even comfusing myself. I can picture it all in my head, but I can't put in in words.

Holy crap, woman. Now THATS is an intriguing theory. Gonna have to wrap my head around that one as the night goes on. The end is the beginning is the end.
Wonderful.

It ties into P1 thinking The Tall Man traveled back into time where Mike was just a boy to take him then, and failed at that time.
And to when in P3 the Tall Man tries to take the sphere out of Mike's head and failed at that time,
Which at the end of P4, he accomplishes what he wanted.

As soon as SCIENCE figures out a way for interdimesional travel, I'll stick with the four dimensions we have now: 3D and the past. Until that time, I'll only crack open a "can of whoop ass" and keep my feet firmly planted on earth. Sorry...

I found out what happened to Mike!
Mike lived and started his own business. *sarcasm* I was driving on route 30 I believe, and I saw a place called "Pearson's Bakery"! The first thing that came to mind was Mike, and I thought it was funny.

Mike lived and started his own business. Mm, hmm. As advanced as The Tall Man's tech is, dimension travel is still not an exact science. As it turns out, both gold spheres and Reggie died in a slipspace fluke, leaving Mike to travel back to a normal 1979 and live boring life with his rich brother.

On New Years Eve, I was watching Phantasm with my friend's boyfriend because he had never seen it before, and I watched the part with Mike and the Fortune Teller and at the part where Mike tried getting his hand out of the black box, the Graddaughter said, "It was all in your mind." And as well as at the end of the movie with the headstones coming out of the ground and such, Mike made them go away.
And then I thought, well, with the implications of "It's all in his head." at the end of OblIVion, on who those words refered to, I'm thinking they were refering to Mike. Maybe everything really was in his head, and maybe Mike really was controlling everything, and the Tall Man is just a figure in Mike's mind. So many possibilities.

I got the boxed set for christmas with all phantasms and I found the 4th the most confusing the ending anyways but it explained a lot about the tall man and how he came to be what he is, I guess he's not really an alien is he? I mean he was a human after all. Also after reggie went into the gateway where did he go? You hear his voice but that's it I'm kinda confused someone help me argh.

Most phans agree that there will never, ever be a perfect explanation of the ending of Phantasm: Oblivion.
But if you stick around until next week when the second podcast is released, you'll get my opinion, John Klyza (from Phantasm.com)'s opinion and someone officially a part of the series' opinion.
