Here's a quick question for all the Phantasm collectors out there... what ONE item are you missing from your collection? The laserdiscs? The original vinyl soundtrack? The Tall Man figure? And why haven't you picked it up yet? Is it too costly? Or perhaps just that rare?
Curious!

There's a lot missing, but I really would love to have the Phantasm 1 novel.

i'm fine with mostly just the movies and the P1 soundtrack CD. i did get the screen-specific paperback of zelazny's MY NAME IS LEGION.
however, i _would_ LOVE to have a copy of that russian PHANTASM novel that's shown up a few times in this forum, but where is it for sale? how do you even get a copy? take my money!!

Cool topic and a good way to get some posts actually happening here again, for a bit!
All I really have in relation to Phantasm are a couple editions of the original film, the Blu-ray of Phantasm II, and the DVDs of III and IV, as well as some book some guy wrote about the film series...can't seem to remember the title of that book or who wrote it...hmm....
Anyway, the one thing that I still kick myself for not getting was the toy or action figure or display model or whatever you want to call it of the Tall Man, which came with a dwarf and the silver poles of the dimension gate. I remember spotting a few of them at Tower Records during the time that chain was shutting down...it was on clearance and I remember holding it, looking at it, and being tempted, but ultimately put it back, even considering the clearance pricing.
At the time, while I did like Phantasm, I wasn't quite as enamored of it as I am currently, and I was thinking, "What am I going to do with a knick knack toy? It's not like I am going to be playing with it, and it's not 'grown up' to display such things in the house, so it would be a waste of money and space."
Why?!?! WHY?!?! I wish I could go back in time and take that dang toy up to the counter!

Hah! I think I have that same book. It's crap through and through. Why?!?! WHY?!?! I wish I could go back in time and take that dang toy up to the counter! I think we've all been there. That toy was basically in the bargain bin... until it became collectible. It languished or years in the Phantasm web-store signed by Coscarelli. If only we'd known! The novel was the same way and now that thing goes for hundreds of bucks. Would have been a smart investment to buy up a ton of them.

I don't even know where that book is these days...I remember using it to keep a table that had a short leg level for a while, and the dog was chewing on it a few months back...not sure what happened to it after that. I certainly wouldn't put it proudly on the bookshelf next to my other books on film, film history, director biographies, and so on.

I love the retro items, laserdiscs, soundtracks, super8, vhs, posters..I want the mexican vhs tape, it has an strange cover but is a rare item. I don't like the latest items, pure marketing to increase the benefit. The cover of the original soundtrack is awesome and super 8 editions are gems for me, don't miss your chance if u find some like these because they are becoming rare nowdays.

The only items I have is a Sphere with the spike thingies and four dvds that go with it. I would love a Tall Man figure.

As bad as it is. I only have Phantasm on DVD and it's about worn out, scratched, freezes, etc. The rest of series is on VHS still. That's probably horrible but every time I seem to see modern Phantasm media come up it's at 'collector prices' and I'm not a Phantasm collector, I watch this stuff. So I guess I'm technically missing everything except Dustin's book because I was really interested in that and was not disappointed at all.

I would love to add the severed finger promo from P1 to my collection, I have a ton of other stuff, but that would be something I would love to add. Of course my signed Red Planet Edition Exhumed is one of my favorite pieces.

I feel personally like I am still missing some good Phantasm stuff. I should be happy with autographs from entire cast and director, the limited edition novel, comic book, soundtrack on CD, all the films, 2 shirts, and other stuff. I don't have model Cuda, model Tall Man, model sphere, vinyl soundtrack, and whole lot of other stuff. Right now more than anything it's the cost and space.

There are a few things I am missing. I know that I am missing the model Cuda. But so far, I have 9 posters (all in tubes at the moment, many of them signed), the UK sphere set, the Tall Man action figure, the novel signed by the entire cast, steel sphere replica, 2 Exhumed books (blue and red), comic book, the Signature Series laserdisc, blurays 1, 2, and 5, and a newly acquired screen accurate Tall Man dagger. I have been thinking about selling some of the stuff, though. I have so many Phantasm things, I'm debating whether or not I really need that new "authorised" book coming out.
