We know that Tim in P3 is intentionally made to look and act like young Mike (from P1).
I know a lot of people don't like P3, because of the "House of Horrors" aka Home Alone booby-trap aspect.
But think about it, considering young Mike (in part 1) was a very innovative kid (i.e. gun shell/hammer to break out of his locked bedroom) and other various skills he possessed (i.e. mechanic on the Cuda, etc). Do we believe that if Jody had died, and Reggie was never in the picture, that young Mike wouldn't have tried to make a stand (at the house) in the same way that Tim did?
After thinking about it, since it was established (off-camera) that Mike's parents had already died, and if there was no Reggie (adult) to watch after him (after Jodi's death), that he would have booby-trapped the P1 house just like Tim did in P3.
What is everyone else's opinion?

You know Mike came in contact with Tally at the graveyard through his brother and his dead friend.
Without Jody no Mike-involvement.

I'm basing this on the premise that the Tall Man really existed and Mike's parent's bodies were really missing from Morningside and Jody died (at the hands of the Tall Man). Mike was a very creative kid, and good with his hands, so if he were alone in that house, i could easily see him booby-trapping it.

Yeah, for sure. Not to talk about the end in p1 with the hole-in-the-ground trap!

Yeah, for sure. Not to talk about the end in p1 with the hole-in-the-ground trap! Exactly. He and Jody came up with some clever/inventive ways to kill the Tall Man (all of these had to start in Mike's head, since the first 80 minutes of P1 was Mike's dream) that didn't become real until the last 5 minutes of P1. If Reggie weren't a factor, and Mike survived being pulled through the glass mirror (at the end of P1), I could see him escaping again from the Tall Man/coming back to fortify/booby-trap the house.

Since they can't kill Tall-man they often either run away from him, since he is a slow guy, or try to halt him by closing doors and other more clever actions like traps.
Until the dimension swapping get to full intense later into the movies and they finally get caught one by one.
They won some time at least, enough for 5 films!
