Myers doesn't need to be a tragic character I don't want to think oh poor guy no wonder he's messed up.
I want him to have no reason or motive for doing what he does other than he is pure evil. Nothing and I mean NOTHING they could do gore wise or backstory wise will ever top that.

Guys this is real bad and trust me I had high hopes. I really wanted Phantasm remade but at this point I'm of the opinion that should never happen unless Don at the very least produces. John Carpenter should have produced because I refuse to believe no matter what will come out in the press that he would like this. Oh by the way next up will be Underworlds Lin Wiseman ruining Escape from New York. Yes sad but true.

I just watched Halloween, and all I have to say, is that Rob Zombie completely f*cked up a great horror classic. I am so disappointed.

The difference between Carpenter and Don is that Carpenter lost his mind at a certain point in his career and started cranking out crap-product. Don has never made a bad film and personally cares about his franchise.
Carpenter is a sell-out. He doesn't give a rats a*s about Halloween.... after III he just sat back and started taking whatever checks the filmmakers would throw his way. Halloween 19? He'd be all for it so long as he got his cut.
It's a shame. I'm glad Don looks after our franchise the way he does. No other director has ever done that to my knowledge.

Was it at least worth seeing for Danielle Harris?
I agree on the part of Don caring about his movies. You'd think a director who creates something would care enough to not see it turned into garbage.

To be honest I don't know what happend to John. He almost has become a parody of himself. As a filmmaker i promise you I would never let someone rape even my worst film. Not only was Halloween raped it was brutally sodomized in a way that apparently only Uwe Boll and Rob Zombie can handle. But f**k at least Uwe only ruins video games. Suddenly Tarentinos idea about Michael Myers in space looks pretty d**n good. All I can say is go back and watch the the original Halloween. Pacing, character development, and writing were perfect. Watchng this it is understandable why people at the time thought he was the next hitchcock. I would rather never see another Phantasm movie made than see this happen. My level of respect for Don which was already high is now far and beyond description. And guys guess what? Malcolm Mc Dowell is signed on for a sequel. Maybe a gifted director could fix it but who would touch this with a ten foot pole now?

Well... umm.... actually, yes. Danielle Harris is an exceptional beauty (got to see her this past weekend in Jersey) and in the film, she looses her top for about two minutes. So with that in mind, Halloween is an unparalleled masterpiece.

Danielle Harris was one of the few good things about the movie. And her getting topless was a plus. She's beautiful.
I also enjoyed seeing one of my favourite actors, Clint Howard. His role wasn't very big but it was still great to see him. I also enjoyed seeing another one of my favourites, Danny Trejo.

Danny Trejo's autograph table at Monster Mania 9 was directly beside Angus and Reggie. Pretty awesome.

Did Ken Foree have a decent sized role?

he was in it for about two minutes. Thats where Michael gets his coveralls. Danny Trejo I actually liked. He had like 6 lines but still yet I cared for him more than Laurie

Yeah, I actually liked Danny Trejo's character much better than Laurie.
I honestly think Jamie Lee Curtis was a better Laurie.

I just saw it. This movie is not scary at all. There is no suspense nothing shocking.
Danielle Harris is the only ONLY reason to see this movie.
I don't even have the words. It's basically a movie about a guy walkin around killing people. You knew exactly where he was the entire movie.
My god I yearned for the Thorn to show up and put an end to s**t crap fest called Halloween 07
Do yourself a favor and rent the 1978 John Carpenter Halloween and you will see how it's susposed to be done.

Hey watched the original again lastnight. Felt good like taking a bath after being covered in filth. Well maybe it was more like nuts zombie covered us in but anyway its been washed away. Honestly i think the scariest thing about Halloween is they released it. I mean they pulled the plug on the Exorcist prequel so why not this? Makes me feel a bit better about my first student film. yhree guys get hacked apart in the woods. You know why? Nope neither do I and that's what freaked me out.

Thanks Dustin, I never knew that about about horror film theater releases. It's such a shame that the Halloween movies have gotten such a bad treatment over the years and for that matter the genre in general. One of the best things about Halloween is that Loomis, the sane good doctor, lets the viewer know why Myers is evil incarnate. The best part of horror is left to the imagination and primal fears. Thats why Halloween and II have always been favorites of mine. I've watched the later movies just out of devotion.

I went and saw it again with a friend and I dunno I still stick with most everything I said.
I guess though if you had no insight or knew nothing about the previous movies you might enjoy this. It's not scary in the least though and has some huge plotholes.
Otherwise if you like dumbed down horror with alot of blood then this is probably your movie.
