Thank you Gopher and Dustin! It works. Guess I had to think outside the sphere a bit more on how to link.

I must be honest, I don't like the image chosen as logo of the forum, it's very bad (from my perspective). I think this place deserves a more Phantasm-ish pic, featuring the Tall Man (Angus), Reggie and Mike. Just my two cents.

p.s. any chance of making my Phantasm gif thread a sticky thread ? at least for awhile ? Sure, great idea. I'll sticky it for a while, then we'll play it by ear. Your hard work deserves to be seen by all! I must be honest, I don't like the image chosen as logo of the forum, it's very bad (from my perspective). I think this place deserves a more Phantasm-ish pic, featuring the Tall Man (Angus), Reggie and Mike. Just my two cents. How is the logo "bad"? It's an old image from press materials (I believe) from Phantasm... and as you can plainly see, it does feature the Tall Man. I don't see how it isn't Phantasm-ish. I don't believe in cluttering up 1/3 of the page with a giant, cluttered eyesore. But that's just me.

I don't like the logo, I don't find it "atmospheric". I'm not saying that you must make a patchwork, that would be a rip-off of Sphere Wars. ;D

I'm all for criticism, but you just said it was flat out "bad" and then didn't explain why. I'm sorry you don't find it atmospheric. I happen to really dig the style, and as I recall you once asked me to make a new banner for Sphere Wars, no? Don't worry, I'm not going to be ripping anything off from Sphere Wars. And I expect the same courtesy in return, thank you. ;D

Well, Gopher,
Maybe I was too drastic in my judgement. It isn't bad at all, it's a good strip (as stand-alone work)... IMHO, I just feel it isn't enough "atmospheric" for a Phantasm forum.
Said that, I like the fact it is very comic-bookish, it reminds me of black and white, naughty comics like Stray Bullets or something along those lines.
It's just that 'Phantasm Community' needs something explosive.
Well... I still need a f**k**g banner... so if you want... ;D

Goph's banners are top notch.
The greys & whites are easy on the eyes. I've always liked basic layouts like that. Flashy is overrated. I'd rather see something basic where we can gather with loads of information than anything flashy. Flashy takes emphasis off the topics at hand, in my opinion.

Goph is great at it, it's just that I feel this forum requires a more atmospheric logo, that's it. IMHO.

Backpedaling are we?
Goph, as I stated when you first posted it up, that banner is top notch and fits Phantasm to a tee. Don't change it, I beg of you.

The banner for me is very nostalgic. Back in 1980 when AVCO rereleased "Phantasm" and "The Fog" as a double-bill in theatres, they created this very artwork for "Phantasm's" new advertising campaign. In fact, I had no idea you drew this Gopher (very well done, if so!) because it looks startlingly like that 1980 ad. I think it's rather fitting, for awhile, to have a reminder of what the original ads and "feel" for "Phantasm" was on its 30th anniversary. Old timers like me feel better about seeing a sweet taste of their youth resurrected again.

I used a digital version of the artwork you remember, and played around with it in photoshop a little. As much as I'd like to, I can't take credit for drawing the image in the banner.

NO. My opinion is always the same. I found the logo "bad" for this place, not "bad" as stand-alone work. That's it. That's all. Let's listen some Billy Idol song now. ...

I read the same thing. He didn't really trash the banner or those who created it. He was pointing out the "comic/pulp" elements that he didnt care for. I would prefer more of an emphasis on the original movie itself but I also realize that; FINALLY. d**n language barrier. Many thanks, Knight.
