Do any of you phans own this beauty on VHS? I've had it for around three years now. Received it as a gift. It's one of my most treasured tapes along with both versions of Slaughter High, Maniac Cop 2, & my big box version of Death Wish III. ;D
Watching Phantasm II gives me a huge sense of nostalgia since that's how I viewed it as a young boy in the early 1990s. I get that way with a lot of childhood favourites on VHS.

It is like you one of my most prized VHS.

I still have my VHS copy, got it for my thirteenth birthday back in 2000 It's so worn, but it's definitely my most prized VHS by a longshot.

My best friend, who actually showed me Phantasm for the first time those many years ago, used to own all of the films on VHS... until he let someone borrow them, and they all got melted in the backseat of a car. Sad sad story.

Can anyone tell me what previews for other films are at the beginning of the tape before p2 starts?

What are the differences between the original VHS release and the 1992 version? The only thing I have seen so far is the price.

I still have all 4 Phantasms on VHS sitting on my shelf behind me. Hopefully one day I can say the same for the dvds.
The great thing about Phantasm 2 is and this may sound dangerous and it is but how you can build homemade weapons out of things you can find at a hardware store. ;D

What are the differences between the original VHS release and the 1992 version? The only thing I have seen so far is the price. Usally when they re-release a vhs, the re-release is recorded in EP mode (poor picture and sound) and thats what makes it much cheaper than the original 89 release...its very funny how I got my VHS tape (89 version) I was wanting to buy it for sometime now, I was placing bids on ebay and always losing them. So I sometimes go to a "used" video store, sell and trade your movie type store...by now no one wanted vhs tapes and I found Phantasm II for sale for only $1.99 (that was also the price of all the other vhs tapes in the store and still is),,,it still plays perfect...

I think I will hold out for a 89 VHS, it will have more sentimental value. Who knows, it might be the tape that I watched as a kid?

I'm surprised that when Phantasm III came out on dvd that it still contained scenes from part II in the beginning, usually if a different studio puts it out they may need to cut those part out...or some studios re-shoot the same scenes so they can use it...

Can anyone tell me what previews for other films are at the beginning of the tape before p2 starts? I would have to look at mine. Unless someone beats me to it.
