I wasn't sure what to title this thread!!...anyway!
My friend saw the first Phantasm and loved it. So I'm like "dude, you gotta see the others!!"
So we went right to 3, because I didn't have 2 on dvd. At first he was like "I want to see the second one first" I told him, that I didn't have it!! He gave in eventually...
Afterwards, he told me that he didn't want to watch 4 until he sees 2. *Sigh*
I finally gave in tonight and ordered a 1989 used Video Store VHS version of it (not for him of course, for me me me!!). It came out to like 8 bucks. Whatever, I'm just glad I'll finally have a copy of it.
I've watched 1, 3 and 4 so many times, it's like, why not 2?
Something clicked in my brain when I realized I had two copies of Phantasm Oblivion and no P2.
I know there's a billion and one "when will P2 come out on DVD?" threads, this probably just added to it haha.
I don't know, my friend is stubborn, and I don't know what made me think of this...
Whatever, everyone wants a region 1 Phantasm 2 DVD, but, f*** technology, just get the VHS(for now!!)!!

Yes, I think that's a good idea. I like watching P2 on VHS, and I have had some good luck getting a copy on Amazon...decent viewable copy with minor scuffing on the box. Now I can feel sorry for the Cabinet Dwarf all I want!

Agreed. If a VHS tape is available for a good price, people should buy it. Watching Phantasm II on VHS is a very nostalgic thing for me since that's how I first viewed it when I was a kid.

My new used copy of Phantasm II came in today. And for some reason, I had the same problem with it, but after I played them on a different VCR, both worked on mine Magically.
I think the Tall Man is messing with me.
Once Again, I'll never understand Technology.
But Hooray!! Haha

I would love to have an authentic VHS of Phantasm II --- all I have is a tape recorded from Cinemax April/May 2007. It wasn't until I was watching it sometime last year I realized how great VHS can be, not so much because the quality is "bad", but the coloring and everytihng is just a little different and it enhances a lot of the atmosphere especially in (low budget) horror flicks. Figures because 2006 I got rid of a TON of tapes I had since I had the same movies on DVD but now that I have had this apifany I really wish I could go back: I had some great cheesy ones in video store clamshells like Child's Play 3 and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, *sigh*
What happened to MCA anyway? I'm pretty sure they were Universal's distribution division but around 97-98 it kinda liquidated.

I have all 4 on VHS and wouldn't trade them for the world even though I have all but P2 on dvd now.
I got all the VHS copies new for the most part save for P3 which was hard to find in the late 90's here. I keep them around for sentimental value.
