I loved HTD when I was young, great movie. Plus, Ed Gale plays Howard. Good to know I'm not totally alone, but weren't there like, 20 different people that played Howard in that movie?

Wow, we all live in our own little worlds and think we're the only people that are fiending for this movie. Great to see there's a huge interest in it all over the world.

3 cult classics have been released on DVD already since the beginning of this year:
-Four Flies On Grey Velvet -Howard The Duck -Slaughter High (Unrated I might add)
Also, the H.R Puff N Stuff movie and Night Of The Creeps are making their way to DVD soon. So the odds of Universal releasing Phantasm II on DVD are pretty slim. I just hope this is finally the year.

I don't understand why this is such a big deal. Just import it from Japan or the UK where it is freely available (from Anchor Bay, no less). These days it's easier to do that from your armchair than actually walking down the road to a store.

It is very cool that so many cult classics have gotten DVD releases at long last, including an uncut version of My Bloody Valentine! 2009 looks to be a good year in this domain, the drawback being how cheaply made DVD's are now Yes I'm anal but whatever. The list is still extreamly long however, theres Maniac Cop 2, Phantasm II, Blood Diner, CHUD II: Bud the CHUD, Ghoulies III (not that many care bout this but it happened to come to mind), Mindwarp, Trilogy of Terror 2, Humanoids of the Deep, etc, etc...in some ways it's a shame as fleshwoundvideo's invintory is growing smaller and smaller but it's still great to see them coming out!

Maniac Cop 2 is out on DVD. It got an odd, under the radar release in October 2007. The DVD is about VHS quality...perhaps a little better & in fullscreen. It's hard as heck to find & pretty expensive.

It's hard as heck to find & pretty expensive. Thats kinda my point; it was a poor DVD and went OOP almost instantly and can be found for roughly $70 minimum online. I suppose the specs preserve the mood of watching a horror movie on tape but given the circumstances it's hardly enough to conceder it a legit release. I mean late 2007 and it's OOP? Any idea on what happened there?

I know Nightflier51, but still. Here's a petition to get a R1 Phantasm II DVD: www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?zf3k24&1And here's Universal's Customer service number: 661-702-5132 Sign the petition, swarm Universal with messages, and we may have a 40% to get Phantasm II on R1 DVD either this or next year. If not this, then our only choice is (what nightflier said) time.

These days it's easier to do that from your armchair than actually walking down the road to a store. Well...not necessarily. Saying it's "easier" to import something from another country VS walking down to the store is somewhat ridiculous, especially in this economy nowdays. I, for one, certainly can't afford to slap down $100, or even $50 or however much this would cost. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't P2 available only if you buy that sphere/box set? The idea of paying that much for 1 DVD out of a box set of others I already own isn't very appealing. Had Phantasm 2 been released on region 1, it would be easier for me to "walk" down to my local store and slap a reasonable $15 on it. Just like I did with the AB re-release of Phantasm 4. No shipping costs there, either.
