Although no one will ever fill Angus' boots and I wouldn't want to watch a "Phantasm" movie without him in it, I did a double take at the suggestion of David Warner. That actor can play a mix of charm and cold sadism that chills the blood. I'm thinking especially of his role as the Cardassian interrogator in the "Star Trek: TNG" episode. "There are FOUR lights!!!" (Shudder.)

yeah, right? David Warner was great in the "four light" episode as well as Gorkon in "Undiscovered Country"...& i really liked him in Wax Work...he was also the original Freddy Krueger...there may be a photo or sketch with him in the makeup out there somewhere if memory serves...

those were my two best suggestions. just occurred to me (if he hadn't already passed away...) i might have gone with a grizzled david carradine as the tall man. much as i hate to envision anyone in place of angus scrimm, i think carradine playing grim reaper would've been something to see.

Julian Richings as The Tall Man. He played Death in Supernatural. I would really like to see him portray the Tall Man. I love him as Death, and even though though he's only in like 4 episodes, every time he is on screen he dominates it. And honestly, I think his introduction in Supernatural is the best character introduction ever.

must admit i recently stopped playing this game when, searching my mind for a reggie doppelganger, i briefly flashed on abhorrent "comic" gallagher. not even a vague resemblance, but now i can't get it out of my head, switching the quad-shotgun for a sledge-o-matic and the spheres for sundry fresh produce. arrrgh! I say this over and over and over.
Dean Norris as Reggie. Now that the phenomenon that is Breaking Bad is over, perhaps more people can now appreciate the suggestion.

I've always thought Dean looked like Reggie. He looks more like him in Starship Troopers, imo. First movie I ever saw with Dean Norris was The Cell, and I thought it WAS Reggie at first. It was a small thankless role, but figured it was him since it was a horror project. I've considered them to be doppelgangers ever since.

Totally agree. Not just in looks either. Dean Norris sounds and talks like Reggie too! It always makes me do a double take! Impossible to watch "Breaking Bad" without thinking of Reggie. And now I'm watching DVD's of "Under the Dome" and it's evil Reggie! lollol

Don't know about the rest, but A. Michael Baldwin should play The Tall Man in future movies!
I think it is hinted in Oblivion, when Reggie wakes at/dreams his at the graveyard, lurking in the bushes, and all of a sudden Mike grabs his shoulder -- dressed in an black costume just like The Tall Man. He seem alto higher that usual also...

Okay, I think I may have found the perfect Tall Man. Forgive my poor Photoshop skills.

I can't imagine any other actors playing these beloved characters that we have grown to care so much about. I don't think anyone can pull off a convincing Angus for me.
