It's currently at 5.6. I remember it being somewhere in the higher 4's not too long ago. Good to see the rating rising somewhat. Perhaps we can attribute that to release of Phantasm 3 on DVD & more people discovering it. Of course I'm very partial to it since it's my favourite in the series so I gave it a 10. www.imdb.com/title/tt0110823/

From what I remember the rating has gone to and from around 5.0-5.6 randomly following the DVD release of Phantasm III. I don't think it's a bad movie but personally I feel that something like a 5.2 would be perfect for the film concedering what it is and how most fans look at it. Before the renewed interest even Phantasm IV had a 4.6 and now it's a 5.4 or something. Phantasm II I recall climbing a few decimals as well so I'm sure the DVD's are doing well and interest is spreading.

I gave it a "10" as well. Pretty much any movie I enjoy will get a "10" on IMDb to give it a small boost. With all of the other votes, I don't think it helps a whole lot though. Haha... The DVDs definitely helped. Before Phantasm III came out on DVD, the VHS was pretty rare. I don't think it was as rare as Phantasm II but still went for a little bit. I sold my VHS for about $10 a few months before the DVD release. I kind of regret it now because Phantasm III is the only one I don't have on VHS these days.

Phantasm is our life! Of course 10/10. For me I'd say a 5 or 6/10; I know that may seem low but theres a lot about Phantasm III that bugs me; I love the first two and really like the fourth but Phantasm 3, mainly because of the beginning (I did like most of the comidic aspects), just really dosen't sit right with me. Wether it's the massive amount of retconning in the intro, baldwin's mediocre acting, or the infrequent obsurdities, theres just a mossive about of the film that annoys me. It wasn't bad by any means and I do love Reggie and most of the jokes revolving around him but still....

All Phantasm's chapters 10/10. No, "Phantasm-I" is 11/10.

He's talented, but I wouldn't call him a genius, especially the way some of the movies are written. A lot of what gave the original Phantasm it's magic was the massive amount of footage shot; he was an amiture at the time and with all of the cuts and bizarre editing, Phantasm came to be what it is. The preceding film has some holes, particulary regarding The Tall man's motives and the town-killing thing, but nothing one would particulary care about. Phantasm 3 I'm not getting into for obvious reasons, and the fourth...I'm not sure how to put it, but whatever. I'm not saying he sucks or anything; Incident on and off a Mountain Road is one of if not the best Masters of Horror episode; Bubba Ho-Tep was obscure but entertaining and very original. Sadly I have yet to see Survival Quest or The Beastmaster.
