The thread about Phantasm 5 if it became impossible to make made me think of this.
What if they made Phantasm 5 into a fully animated movie? Just an idea to ponder if we couldn't get a live action film.

I wouldn't mind a CGI rendered Tall Man/Angus. Providing Angus dies before they can make this movie, which im not hoping he does.

Animated films can be cool, but only if they're made without demographic concerns. And personally, I think Phantasm would only work if there was a certain "style" in place: a mid ground between "boring ass cartoon-art" and "super stylized, trying to be cool designs" XP

Providing Angus dies before they can make this movie, which im not hoping he does. *cringes* That was the "catastrophe" I alluded to in my topic on P5 being impossible, but I didn't want to say it out loud, especially since he might actually read it. Now that it's been said, though, I think I'll say what we all know: recasting the Tall Man would be unthinkable. If Mr. Scrimm should leave us, though, the options Don and company have are limited: 1.) Simulate him with a body double and CGI makeup (a la Arnold from Terminator Salvation). I doubt this will happen not only because some would view it as disrespectful, but also because it would almost certainly push the budget beyond whatever P5 is allotted. 2.) Let P5 be animated and use a soundalike. A little more likely, plus it would allow for more spectacular visuals on a smaller budget. Unfortunately, most would still see it as "the one without Angus". 3.) Release the story in a non-film media of some sort. This was the topic of my other thread and may be the most likely way of us getting it at all. 4.) Let the project die. Sadly, I think this is the most likely course of all. At least some of the fans are happy with Oblivion as a conclusion. A remake will most likely ensue, which I both anticipate and dread.

I find people from his generation live longer lives then people from our generation. Look at Eli Wallach who played Tuco in The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. He's 95 years old and he still has a very active acting career. I don't know if I would like an animated P5. I just hope and pray there will be a P5 with the original cast and maybe even a P6. Long live Angus!!! This are excellent words
