Thanks so much for the great explanation. Your hard work is greatly appreciated. Being able to virtually set foot in the Phantasm world is a dream come true for all of us!
Quick question, I know with the Doom 3 mod, you need Doom 3 to run it. What about UDK? Would that be a standalone release?

It was mentioned earlier, but I'll reinerate and elaborate a bit...UDK comes as a stand alone development package to create PC interactive entertainment or used as a demonstration platform. with such games that have been created using UDk like The BALL (not phantasm related) and a few others. www.udk.com/showcaseUse of the UDK for noncommercial purposes is free of charge, and for the general public to learn and develop on. More on the features of UDK can be found here: www.udk.com/featuresand for DOOM 3 related development you can see id's sdk page here: www.iddevnet.com/doom3/And yes your correct the Doom 3 mod will require doom 3, patched to 1.3.1 and is compatible on win 7 (32 and 64) bit op systems. This is being tested on my laptop with win 7 64 bit but is being developed on win xp 32 bit. Thanks for your kind words and interest, very very greatly appreciated! and onward we go......

Actually I do have that music in the background playing looped, even though it repeats it works well and is a catchy tune. What I'm more intrigued with is where you go after... all I'll say for now is that it involves a number puzzle. ;D

I'd like to first off say that what you have all seen so far is always subject to change and also that many things have been intentionally left out to remain as suprises. (if I showed everything then whats the point...) However here's a brief little teaser of Grandma Morningside's fortune teller sequence. (part of it anyways) ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6kgLSc2Huw

Thanks bud! Hi I noticed too that the header got changed, which is ok, I hope my project qualifies as a new future project, as I've been working on this every day now for the past month. however I still have a ways to go I want to let everyone know it's coming along great! the second level for D3 is almost done as I have 2/3 challenges completed. (spoiler) one involves the hearse chase, just remember a deer in headlights can be dangerous....(you'll all understand what I mean later on). as I'd like to keep this as a suprise. also the detail in jeb's lab is almost spot on so far and more to come. This won't be a 5 min game that's over too soon but the file size will be considerable for download, right now its about 150mb , glad not many use 56k modems anymore. Right now this is the most comprehensive virtual representation created of the phantasm universe that I know of, I really hope many can enjoy this creation I made of it for many years to come. This is the doom 3 version which I will finish first and the UDK version will be later on and will be a different varient version as well. back to work I go.... Rock on !...

Your project very much qualifies as a future Phantasm project! And it's coming along INCREDIBLY. Keep it up, sir. Oh, and if you could figure out a way to get it to work on Mac that would be excellent!

Back before we went all PC at my work place, Doom 3 and your Phantasm expansion worked just fine on my Intel 17inch iMac (running Tiger). However, your mileage may vary with PowerPC or Leopard/Snow Leopard. Newer iMacs with the NVIDIA graphic chipset should be able to run Doom 3 a lot better than what mine did with the lower end Intel graphic chipset. It was playable at the lowest settings, so I guess that's all that matters.

Thanks. i was just about to dive in to that. Anyway to get a joystick that would work? I've never really been a PC gamer. But just like anything I guess you get used to the keypad.

Besides the levels the characters need work too, I've been taking some time to rework the dwarves so they go splat and stop falling through the floor... here's a preview test vid.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYYDkmYIqKQproper animation takes time and I'll probably rework this more so that its more satisfying to have in the game. currently they're not too scary but that will change soon enough If I can help it.

I'd just like to drop in and say what an excellent job Mr. Bladeghost is doing with this. By the way, don't know if you remember me Mr. Ghost, but I was S.L. on myspace before I left it. :-)
That Doom 3 mod a few years ago was epic. This is mind-blowing.

All the more reason to update it and make it better. Hi S.L. yes I remember you glad to see you here it's coming along however morningside just doesn't 'feel right at the moment.... has me concerned. but we'll see. Thanks everyone for your support as it keeps me going with a reason and a purpose, else I might have given up by now. Also I've managed to shave off about 85mb just by converting the sound files from .wav to ogg vorbis as it is supported and has a better compression ratio. big difference... as it was it was approaching 185mb , but its now down to about 100mb due to the sound conversion. It's a bit better but I'm still not done as I still have more to do. I'll keep everyone updated......
