I was in Rosemont today for the Hollywood Celebrities & Memorabilia Show, met a bunch of actors, and picked up these two items in the vendors area. I got a Phantasm III laserdisc, and a "Worlds of Horror" issue 1 magazine. I have never heard of Worlds of Horror, and I could not find anything on it. But in it there was a lengthy interview with Angus. What sucks is that the interview continues on issue 2, but they didn't have it there. Bummer. I just thought it would be cool to have. Attachments:

That's very cool. Can you find issue 2 on eBay or somewhere? I would definitely want Part 2 myself. Do you have any pics you can post of some of the actors that were there?

Yeah, I found issue 2 on ebay for rather cheap. But I couldn't get pictures because they all charged $10 for photographs, even using our cameras. I thought that was kind of gay. I can understand charging for autographs, but not pictures. The only picture I got was with Michael Gross from the Tremors movies. But we got autographs from Frank Vincent and David Naughton. That's all $100 dollars could get me since that's all I brought. But Michael was so nice. And that mutha's tall! Keep in mind, I'm 5'11 (well, 5'10'', the shoes I wore gave me an extra inch) and he towers me.

Oh wow, I didn't notice that was Michael Gross at first. He looks good. The first thing I think of when I hear his name is "Family Ties" w/Michael J. Fox. I used to love that show...You look very nice in that pic. I would look like a midget next to him because I'm only 5'4" without heels. That's really cool you met David Naughton and Frank Vincent. Actually $10 is cheap for a pic. Some charge $20. But I hear you about charging if you use your own camera. I would probably zoom in from a distance and get a pic of them without me in it...Thanks for sharing.

Back in '08 i met Regg, Angus, and Mike at Fright Night Horror Fest in KY. They were under contract to charge $20 an autograph and if i remember correctly you could only get a personal pic if you bought the autograph (not complaining by the by, money well spent to a Phan who was only EVER interested in meeting Regg and Phamily out of ANYONE in hollywood). Mike was nice enough to call me over on my way out and sign my Phantasm shirt i was wearing for free! It now hangs in my closet under plastic. Regg had a cool thing going. I bought his music cd (he brought his band and performed, they are AWESOME) and Regg and his band signed for free AND signed the free Reggie Bannister Band poster they were handing out, very cool!! I got Regg and Mike to sign my American Muscle Phantasm Edition '71 Cuda replica and Angus signed my Tall Man action figure. I bought pics from all and of course had them sign so it was a very expensive day for me! There were lots of other stars there, Jason Lively from National Lampoon's European Vacation and Night of the Creeps gave us a free pic, and Gary Friedrich (Ghost Rider creator) signed a trading card i bought for like 2 bucks and gave me a pic 4 free. Kinda expensive but VERY cool.

I remember the Worlds of Horror mag (I think Angus submitted my P2 set birthday photo for one of the issues). Darren Gross was a "Phantasm" fan living in NJ, finishing up high school. He did two issues, and then I think that was all. He went to NYU film school, then moved out to LA to live/work. I see him (too) infrequently. He works just down the street from me but I never seem to have a chance to take a long lunch! lollol Darren got really interested in "Dark Shadows" and has done a lot of writing about that series in the years since.

lmsunshine: I felt awkward the entire time I was there. I barely knew who these people were. I think Michael and David stole the show, though. But yeah, Michael still looks great. For being 63, he's still handsome.
Kristen: That's very interesting. 2 issues, huh? Yeah, many of your photos are in the issue that I have. Your name is written all over in the "photo credits" part.

I actually booked Michael into that show and nothing in the contract specified an autograph price (never seen a con-contract mention pricing). Prices are set by the celebrities themselves and most just choose to go with $20 to make it worth their time. I sat with the Phantasm boys that entire weekend and being in one place, surrounded by fans, smiling and socializing for 10+ hours a day can be grueling. I think they earned their $20 per autograph, personally.
