Hey fellow Phantasm fans let me introduce myself.
I was born in 1989 and I was first introduced to the Phantasm series by my older brother back in about 1995/1996. I have grown to love the series, its really the most underrated horror films out there in my opinion. I live in the United States, is there any possible way to get a complete DVD set of all the Phantasm movies new or slightly used? I have been searching for a complete collector's set since about 2005 and I have yet to find anything of real interest to me. Thanks for all the help!
Devin

Your best option is to buy the the UK box set, both versions are now out of print but can still be found, they have a bonus 5th disc with great special features and part 2 has commentary.
Otherwise just buy the US versions, they don't have the commentary on part 2 but all of them have the best video transfers even over the UK box set.

Thanks bcg1969, what exactly would I search to find a normal complete DVD set in US version?? I have been able to find the individual DVD's of each movie but not together.
Thanks,
Devin

You won't find a complete set of the films in the US since they're are film rights (Anchor Bay owns Parts 1, 3, and 4 while Universal owns 2). The latest US releases of the films (2007-2009) features better transfers than the ones on the UK set. Now, if you want a complete set that features the films in NTSC, the Japan Box Set is the way to go! It features the same transfers from the AB releases of I, III, and IV but features an NTSC version of II with the UK transfer, with English 5.1 and DTS, and has all the extras from the UK set, the 2007 AB releases of I and III and longer behind-the-scenes segment for IV. I'd say buy that, the latest US DVD releases for the films, and the MGM releases of I and IV. Well, the US editions are available individually as are the Japan releases (but Disc 6 is exclusive to that set). In the UK, the Phantasm disc from the now OOP Sphere Set, is available to own individually (at least according to DVDaf). Anchor Bay UK also released Phantasm II individually but it's bare-bones.

Bigphan 1990 it just sucks that they do not have a complete set in region 1 (US). I think that they should of released a complete set for each region each with a little bit different unique design to it. So I guess the only way to get region 1 stuff is to buy each individually then? Do you know anyplace good to buy the DVD's from? I've checked AMAZON and they want about 9 dollars per DVD.

Try FYE. But forewarn; the prices may be somewhere between $11-$15. On the note of film series, you have to understand that sometimes. films in a series are owned by more than 1 person (Ex: Halloween 1, 4, and 5 are owned by Anchor Bay, Halloween 2-3 are owned by Universal, and Halloween 6, 7, 8, Rob Zombie's Halloween 1 and 2, and future films are owned by Dimension unless when noted). It would great if companies could work together to release box sets of films, but the fact is there's money and film rights and some companies want to own this movie and some companies say "you can't have it" or "if you want it, give us this amount of money" and vice versa.

Bigphan1990 I totally understand, which ever way I can get all the DVD's will do perfectly fine for me. Just having these great movies on DVD rather then VHS is a great thing all in itself.
