Ever wonder what happened to Mike's hometown of China Grove after P2 ? As a matter of fact, i think that it's kinda interesting that it was still standing for years after P2, at least through the events of P2 itself. It's hinted that most towns fall pretty quickly when the Tall Man shows up on the scene, but apparently China Grove lasted these years by design of the Tall Man or the townsfolk put up one helluva fight.

I was thinking that the Tall Man spared that town because the fortune teller lives there, or perhaps she was protecting it herself. I know we see her in the hearse in Oblivion, but that was probably an astral projection. I think there is def something special about this town, which I had no idea was called China Grove.

Good points to ponder Vivalabeck. The name "China Grove" comes from Kate Coscarelli's novel of Phantasm. Something that i found coincidental and a little 'creepy ironic'...i am writing a new Phan Fiction called Phantasm:Resurrection and i was looking for character references from the Civil War and i found an interesting general named Albert Sidney Johnston...and here is the creepy and ironic part, he founded a plantation called 'China Grove'. What are the chances of him being written about 150 years after his life within a horror-fiction story that the hometown bears the same name as his manor? Maybe i'm reading too much into this, i just thought it was ironic. -Prymal

Oh yeah, the town was called China Grove. I completely forget why, though. I find it strange that The Tall Man set up his base of operations there, but never really did anything with it.
