Looking through some old floppy discs I found these shots I took back in the mid 90's when I (sadly) sold this on eBay. It was very dark times financially and emotionally. I also had to sell my complete 16mm print of P1. Truly heart breaking... Does anyone here have one of these? I thought I had found another one online but it turned out to be the one I sold. Note: The lovely young lady in the picture, standing next to the standee for scale, was my girlfriend at the time. (Thankfully she's now my wife.) P2009

Ah, the good old days of decent lobby displays. When I was younger my parents snagged me one from Graveyard Shift.
Hope you find another. Sadly, these things are less and less common. Cardboard=garbage.

Yeah, the theater was taking it down to throw it in the dumpster when I happened to walk by, it was pure luck. It's okay though about selling it. We needed the money badly and it went to another hardcore Phan. I still have a few interesting Phan goodies I'll post soonish.

its funny how the simple things seem to mean so much in a collection. I have a Star Wars Clone Trooper poster for a game that the manager of a Sam Goodys gave me. Worthless in every way (unlike your display) except that i would not part for it unless i was really hurting for money and it was worth something...

Oh I'm sorry I see now this is a display not a poster. Even cooler!

This is so great. I remember seeing this display in some of Kristen Deem's photos. As a matter of fact, I think one of her standee pictures made it onto the Phantasm II Bluray from earlier this year.
I've never seen the entire standee on eBay, though I do remember seeing the sphere part of it there once. Looked really weird with just giant versions of James and Paula's floating heads!

I worked for several years at a movie theatre, and built and disposed of so many standees it's crazy. I remember the standee for Phantasm II being at our theatre. I don't think I built that particular one, but I recall it being in the lobby.
Geez...all those things got thrown away mercilessly after the films had left the theatre, or when there was more room needed for newer or bigger films. Movie buffs would have paid big bucks for some of those things! The only one I ever kept was for Batman Returns...I still have it all these years later, carefully disassembled and packed away, but complete!
