I can't wait to find my blu-ray in the mail. Those special features, especially the deleted scenes and audio commentary, have my curiosity peaked.

Well we're 5 days away to the big day. While you wait, take a gander at the rear covers from Amazon:

I've got mine on pre-order, from the US, as there's no UK release date. At all. It's a good job I have a multiregion dvd player.

I went to Best Buy in the morning to get mine, and spotted the remastered version of the original film right away, and grabbed it, but the space for Ravager was empty already. I had time to kill before work, so I went to another Best Buy near my workplace, and found a single copy of Ravager left on their shelf, and noticed that the original film had sold out at that one! Such balance...
I hate to say this, but it almost seems to me like Ravager kind of killed this board. Reaction to the film is pretty negative on the whole, and there was that pretty nasty review thread...and traffic has dropped on this site dramatically again, after a very brief resurgence. I admit I was disappointed with Ravager, but also in the fact that it seems to have killed interest in this board, too...after the nastiness in the other thread, it seems like most people here have lost all interest, if you look at the traffic counters on the site. Too bad all around.
I do look forward to hearing the commentary on the Ravager disc, however, just to try to wrap my head around what they were thinking, wanting to accomplish with the film, etc. Like I said, I must give Ravager a thumbs down, but I am interested in finding out more about it from the filmmakers. I doubt it will change my mind about the movie much, but it will be of interest to me to find out more about the thought process behind it.

I had time to kill before work, so I went to another Best Buy near my workplace, and found a single copy of Ravager left on their shelf, and noticed that the original film had sold out at that one! Such balance... I preordered mine from walmart at the beginning of November and after watching the shipping info like a hawk this past week, it looks like I'll finally get it tomorrow (weather permitting). I guess when it comes to preorders, walmart is hit and miss with shipping them out. I've preordered stuff from them in the past and received the items in the mail 2-3 days before the shelf date, which is always awesome, but I guess it didn't happen this time. Oh well. Oh man, you should see Ravager's board on IMDb. Some of the reactions there were so over the top and cringey, I was hoping no one involved in the film was reading any of it. There seemed to be an influx of hit and run accounts too, where people seemingly signed up just to burn the film. It made me almost wonder if there was some kind of agenda behind it because I don't think I've ever seen such negative reactions to a movie like this. As a "phan", I can more than handle differing opinions, but when the same usernames are spamming thread after thread about how much a movie sucks, that gets old real fast. Personally, I had fun. I found myself with a huge smile on my face throughout most of this movie. Agreed with almost everything here (I give it thumbs up)! That commentary and the deleted scenes definitely seem interesting.

Well, I just finished going through all the extras on the Blu-ray a short time ago. Nothing in them make me greatly change my mind about the film, but I'll say that the narrative of Ravager (such as it is) makes more sense to me now, and while I still don't like the story of this film, it seems less chaotic and random to me than it did upon first viewing. The things that I did like upon that first viewing of the movie I still like, and even like some of them more than before. The things I don't like are still disliked, but they are a bit more tempered to me...I'll say that much. Though it is only briefly mentioned, there is a comment in the commentary track that somewhat explains why this film is nearly all Reggie rather than dealing with Mike...nothing to do with the story really...a real life reason why Mike's character is much less present. That helps a little bit, as does some brief discussion of how/why Michael Baldwin did some filming of the movie himself, almost like a second unit director. Most of the commentary is focused on comments like "we really had fun with x" and "oh this actor does such a good job here," but you do get the sense that they were trying to do something fans would like. I think they are a little delusional about some of those expectations, but that's just me. I still firmly give a thumbs down overall to the film, as I simply don't like the script/story direction, but I give nods to all the actors in it, and think the makers were trying to make it work without two cents to work with. I'll retain my negative vote on it, but I won't disparage anyone who does enjoy it. Everyone's tastes and expectations are different, so if you like, more power to ya! It's not the end to the series I would like, but it is what it is, and like a movie or not, life goes on in the real world, too!

I hate to say this, but it almost seems to me like Ravager kind of killed this board. yeah. if it had been a good movie the place would be abuzz with conversation right now. don't know if i'm going to pick up the blu-ray; i hated the movie, so i'm only slightly interested in the commentary track, but i picture myself gritting my teeth through that, too.

Well, what was SUPPOSED to be Ravager finally came in the mail this weekend, only to find that they sent me Phantasm: Remastered instead of Ravager. Luckily, I was able to make it to Best Buy and found 2 lone copies of Ravager sitting on the shelf. To be fair, I guess I can understand the confusion since both films came out at the same time.
I'm ecstatic to be able to finally hold a blu-ray of Ravager (and Remastered, even though I almost got stuck with 2 copies) in my hands. The special features were pretty entertaining, especially the blooper reel. I'm glad to see they managed to have a lot of fun making this despite the hard work they also put into it. This was truly worth the wait.
The little message to us Phans in the end credits was great. In turn, I'd like to thank David, Don, Michael, Bill, Reggie, Angus, Kat, and the rest of the cast and crew for giving us Ravager. It's a great ride and I know I'll be watching and enjoying the hell out of it for quite some time.

Dear God!
With the chaos of the holidays (and it was a crazy rough year this year!) I all but forgot about this release!
As much as I hate, loathe, detest, despise this film, I definitely need to order it! For me the only reason to watch it is to see the awesome acting. Reggie, Michael, Bill and Angus did such an amazing job that seeing them in real life seems more like a movie than the movie itself. They made the characters so real, that meeting them was more like meeting the characters in the movie than meeting the actors themselves. That deserves some sort of reward!

I'm reading the reviews on Amazon, and I agree with 99% of the criticisms, as I thought the film as a whole sucked. But there are people there posting that the acting sucked! Really? Are you reviewing the same movie? That's one thing I don't think anyone can complain about. The cast kicked more ass than Bruce Lee on a rampage! They knocked it out of the ballpark. I mean good lord, don't throw away the baby with the bathwater!
