Gopher, I finally got around to settling in to my re-design with Phantasm V Hype today. I've made a news item on the main page about your banner and made a text link underneath the top logo as well. That text link will be on every page of the site, which coming up soon - will include more and more pages as I create them. Once more, my small woodland friend, swell job.

Here you go Gigi! Hope you like em! First a "classic" banner... Now some gooped-up Reg ones! By the way Gigi, did you ever get the email I sent into your production company? Just curious.

Wow, those are really great! What programme do you use?

Photoshop CS2
CS3 is out now, but I don't have the $649 it costs. But I use CS3 at school, and it's really not different at all.

Ouch! Why does it cost so much?

It costs so much because it's the program used by professionals in the graphic design field. It's technically not intended for the average user, but some people can tinker with it and understand how to use it on a VERY basic level. Most people don't even know the depth and extensiveness Photoshop has... even some graphic designers only scratch the surface.

Haha. Oh man, do I know your pain. I rock CS2 at home and CS3 at school. Typically, a lot of schools have an education discount with lots of software. Like the premium edition of everything CS3 (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, ImageReady, Adobe Bridge, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc...) for around $600 total. Granted its an education version so you're technically not supposed to make a profit off of whatever you make...but I mean, who really cares?
So far the craziest thing I've seen on this subject is the 3D software Maya. It runs for, oh, somewhere in the ballpark of $8,000 per license.

Yeah I have en education discount thing through my school, but it's still a hell of a lot of money. CS2 works fine for me anyway, especially since pretty much ALL the stuff I produce from it here at my apartment is for fun/leisure. Same thing with InDesign... I use CS2 at home and CS3 at school. Seriously though, I haven't noticed many discrepancies between CS2 and CS3. Technically I could just upgrade, for a significantly lower cost, but even still I don't see the point. Now when I graduate and get a job, that'll be a whole different story.
Oh and yes, Maya is insane. Have you ever used it?

I've just tweaked around Maya. I actually took a class using Cinema 4D (another 3D software). I was goign to teach myself Maya since we have 8 licenses at school, but got bogged down with other things.
I really love the layout of CS3 over 2. I think it works brilliantly in optimizing space...and now I sound like a total nerd!

I agree, the layout is better. I wonder how they'll improve it for CS4! And while you may sound like a total nerd, I am sounding like one right along with you. So it's ok!
I just hope we're not spamming the thread too much, as I want people to come here and use the banners!
