KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!!! But if Anchor Bay does plan to change the artwork, I recommend that they use the same artwork used for the MGM release.

The final cover will likely be much better than the cover shown, Anchor Bay is very blunt in saying it's not the final art so there has to be a reason for it.

For those interested here is a scan of Phantasm IV's Anchor Bay temp art as featured in their latest ad to retailers. As it states in the ad that is not the final artwork, but it shows that Anchor Bay is marketing it as one of their top titles this Halloween season. I'm glad that's not the final art. They can do a lot better.

It's not that bad, I must confess, it has grown on me but... they can do better.

I dont care about the covers anyway. As long as it has a commentary and a behind the scenes or an interview or two Im happy. ... OR a magnificent video transfer.

I'm kind of settled on the poster art that Gopher has being the final art, it certainly out does the MGM release.

Meh, first time I've said anything on the subject, but it doesn't really do it for me. It would be better if the cover had the spheres swarming in the background like the beginning and had Mike's car-part sphere at the forefront. If they don't include Mike's rigged up sphere then the explosion is unnecessary.
In the main body of the film singular spheres appear only during the groaner "fembot"-type scene. I would think the most appropriate cover would be the tall man standing in a spacegate in the middle of the desert, dozens more spacegates behind him, accompanied by the swarm of spheres from the beginning.

I really love the poster that I picked up at Flashback Weekend for P IV release I am going to buy a frame and hang it on my wall. I have the old MGM DVD and I am really exciting about nabbing this and adding it to my collection. It should have some excellent features or I hope it will. The features enhance the film. I agree, it's not super awesome (like the one's that Klyza posted on Secrets) but it is certainly better than the MGM release, whenever I look at that dvd it makes me sad. They really could have done better. I am so excited for the DVD to come out, hopefully it will give the series more exposure and will lead to more Phantasm.

I can't wait for this thing to drop. I'm confident they will do a really good job on the final cover.

Same as the posters up for grabs in the contest.
I wish they would release special features info.

Obliviongoon, today's you lucky day! Here's the official specs courtest of shocktillyoudrop.com: www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=6905Now, they say new featurette and commentary, but these are probably taken from the UK set (obviously). But, what's good about this release, is that it's an UNCUT VERSION! Even I can't believe that! I'll still keep my MGM release since it include the original theatrical version and the promotional trailer. Let me tell ya, come next year that Phantasm II DVD will be on shelves in no time!
