Obliviongoon, today's you lucky day! Here's the official specs courtest of shocktillyoudrop.com: www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=6905Now, they say new featurette and commentary, but these are probably taken from the UK set (obviously). But, what's good about this release, is that it's an UNCUT VERSION! Even I can't believe that! I'll still keep my MGM release since it include the original theatrical version and the promotional trailer. Let me tell ya, come next year that Phantasm II DVD will be on shelves in no time! Does anyone know what exactly was cut? This is the first time I've heard of an "uncut version", sounds like a "buzzword" to me...

If it's uncut, that makes me want it even more! And the new goodies are making this sound like a must have.

Thanks BigPhan.
Sounds really appetizing. A retrospective? Awesome!

This sounds great but I already thought it was UNCUT What exactly didn't Coscarelli put into it? If its just him inserting the deleted footage from P1 that we have already seen (the ice cream parlor etc) then skrew it. If its something I havent seen before from P1 (cause we have only seen about 10 minutes total of all the 3 hours of cuts) Ill preorder it. If its unseen footage that doesn't include sentinel breast implants, or demonic cops I will also preorder it. But if its just stuff we have already seen then count me out - Ill just watch the UK version I agree. What was there to cut anyways? There wasn't a large amount of gore. The movie only took a month to shoot for pete's sake.

I will buy it even though I own 2 other copies of it, and prett soon a VHS copy.
I am rather excited about the "retrospective" feature.

I certainly hope not. However, the AB P1 release was an edited version of Phantasmagoria.

I guess we will find out in about 5 weeks time. I'm gonna buy it either way.

Yeah, I think I'll wait before I buy it. If it's all the same stuff, it's just like your buying the same thing but it just looks different.

All we know that it's uncut! It also includes a commentary and a retrospective featurette (Which are obviously taken from the UK set). I just hope it includes the promotional trailer.

I just hope it includes the promotional trailer. I never really understand when people say this. I'm all for bonus content, but promotional trailers? Do people really watch these more than once (if that)?

I could care less about trailers. The only promotional content I care about is Phantasm I, and that's only for the vintage quality of it.

I could care less about trailers. So you do care a little bit, right? Just messing with you.

More news about the upcoming SE courtesy of horrordvds.com: www.horrordvds.com/modules/News/showarticle.php?threadid=36940"Anchor Bay's PHANTASM OBLIVION doesn't street until August 26th, but we've got a quick first look until we're allowed to post the full review. Here's the short of it: compared to the Anchor Bay UK release, this new transfer beats it in terms of sharpness, framing and color timing. There's still the Dolby Digital 5.1 mix from the UK disc, but the DTS is missing, and most surprising of all, so too is the original stereo mix. In terms of extras, there's the same commentary from the previous release with Reggie, Don and Angus, as well as a 9-minute behind-the-scenes taken from the Phantasmagoria documentary, a trailer and an extended promo reel. The big plus here is the vastly improved picture, but the dropped audio and lack of new extras may turn off those content with the previous R2 release." Click the link to see some screen caps from the film. This is exciting! Perhaps the promotional traile ris gonna be on the DVD after all. That R1 Phantasm II DVD is in the bag!

So the "never before seen" documentary is just taken from the UK Phantasmagoria? Lame because that's been seen before.
