You have no idea how many times I wish that was me instead of Liz in that scene. I’m surprised my VHS tape is still in good condition considering how many times I rewinded that scene. Nuff said. Whoa....really?? I think most guys (me included) wished they could be either Mike or Reggie in P2. What red-blooded male wouldn't break into haunted mausoleums, search desecrated graveyards and chainsaw into a deserted Bread-n-Breakfast seeking out the sinister Tall Man? Especially with lovely ladies by their side... As Reggie said after Mike rescued him out of the 'Cuda: " C'mon. Lets kick some ass."

Yeah, you would think it would be Reggie or Mike (James)…But I think TTM is so darn cute....Plus James is Mrs. LeGros' man

old thread, but reminded me of something else i've always wondered.... regarding Rocky. anyone notice at the very end of P3, the suspicious look she has after they "defeat" the Tall Man. They just dunked his sphere in the cryogenic tank and as the boys are leaving the room, she stays behind and glances back at the tank, with a kind of "should I or shouldn't I" look in her eye. next thing u know, she's saying goodbye and when Tim & Reggie go back inside, the tank is tipped over and the Tall Man returns.
So did Rocky release him and if so why? Kind of strange that she's the only one who ever really got away. Did she make some kind of bargain with the Tall Man to spare her life? Was she just another one of the Tall Man's tricks (so to speak)? Or is the evil that possessed Jebediah Morningside some kind of bodysnatching parasite that can latch onto any human host, including Alchemy?
The scene where Alchemy's car breaks down and she finds the hearse would seem to indicate that she wasn't ALWAYS the Tall Man. If she was, what would be the point of showing that? She wouldn't need to hotwire it. It's been shown many times that "the coach can drive itself." There was no one else around at the time, so no reason to pretend.
just my take on it

I always assumed Alchemy was a corpse reanimated by the Tall Man, hence explaining why Mike sees an apparition of her dead body. She was never alive at all.

I just found out a couple of days ago that the actress who played Alchemy had a radio show for a few years on a now-defunct radio station in my area. I was never a regular listener of the show, but heard bits and pieces of it here and there for a while. I never made the connection between the actress and the radio host, but they are one and the same. Small world.

I can't buy the idea that Alchemy was always a minion of the Tall Man.
If she'd been one from the beginning, why the need to hotwire the hearse to drive to the mortuary? We see her in scenes with no other hero characters around and she doesn't do anything that screams 'mook!'.
Of course, in real life (or is it phantasy?) this is because Coscarelli was saving the reveal of her as a minion for the stinger ending. But nothing we see of her before then indicates to me she was always an apparition, and I can't see her needing to steal Tally's ride if she were.
So I think she hotwired the hearse perfectly innocuously, then something crawled up out of the coffin in the back and mookified her. Which suggests that the Tall Man can transform a person into a minion very quickly indeed.

Well the Tall Man appears right where she had been sitting in the last scene of the movie. He even has the same peeled-off area of skin on his forehead that she did- I think it's safe to say she was him in disguise at least when he picked them up in the hearse.
Also notice how the Tall Man doesn't show up at the mortuary until after Alchemy hotwires the hearse. The only problem with assuming she was him the whole time is how she runs out of the house right after the Tall Man drives off with Liz, but knowing his tricks it's possible this Alchemy was just an illusion.

Reg gets more bumper than a body shop. i think she was dead already when mike saw her on the slab before they picked her up, and i think when they picked her up, she was the tall man. she smiles snidely alot, and i think it is the tall man. Totally agree!! She sort of reminded me of the lady in lavender. With Alchemy though, you never really knew 'til the very end that she was the Tall man. (do we in fact see the Tall Man and Alchemy in any of the same shots?, can't think off the top of my head right now) Every time I watch P2, I try to see if this theory makes sense at all, and it seems to. Everyone has there own views and theories on these movies, but, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought Alchemy was in fact the Tall Man the whole time. This too.

I can't accept the idea of Alchemy being a minion (or worse yet, the Tall Man himself) all the time. She was too strongly developed as an ally and love interest throughout the movie. She was in the house with the others when the Tall Man grabbed Liz. She showed a lot of genuine concern for Reggie. I never got the feeling she was a minion or anything other than an ally who got taken by the Tall Man.
When Mike sees her in the beginning dead on the slab, I look at it in context of the story, the movie itself. In Phantasm II, Mike is showing some level of psychic powers. He knows about Liz without ever having met her. He knows where to look for the Tall Man. So when he sees her dead on the slab, I think that's precognition. He's being shown by the Tall Man what's going to happen. Remember, she wasn't physically on the slab in the mortuary at the beginning of the movie. Mike "sees" her there, turns around, and no one is there. She was a vision, a phantasm if you will. She wasn't an actual dead body because there was no way for her to disappear like that if she was an actual dead body.
I think the Tall Man got to her when she found the hearse and then killed and animated her. That seems to be the most logical explanation to my mind.

Oh, and I really did like her character. She was genuinely charming and seemed to be faithful to Reggie.
