So last week, I purchased a DVD player that is able to play multiple regions. Of course, the first DVD I popped in was Phantasm II. Never actually watching this on DVD, I was used to a grainy picture and less than perfect sound quality. I was really taken back by the quality of the video. This was, of course, the disc that is in the Sphere set. Anyone else really impressed after viewing this with the quality that comes from a DVD? I, like many others grew up watching VHS so when I see something after two decades of VHS quality on DVD, I find a whole new love for it.

It's a rather nice looking DVD. And people should do what you did with the DVD that can play multiple regions & stop their whining about Phantasm II not being on DVD over here.

I loved watching the TV spots for it. Took me back to the day.
The player is a Philips DVP-3962, it's $38 at Wal-Mart. It's available around the country. The "hack" is easy. BOOM! Region 1,2,3,4,5,6 DVD's on one player. Bada-Bing!
People invest so much time and energy into the P2 R1 DVD stuff, when they could have gotten one of these players in the time it takes to hop in a car and drive. Who doesn't have a Wal-Mart within 10 miles of their house anymore? (Unless you live in the sticks)

If anyone can find hacks for it, it would be greatly appreciated. As far as I know, it's unhackable.
