If PHANTASM were to get a remake would you prefer the film to have unknown actors in the lead roles or more well known performers taking on the roles?

If it were to ever happen, which I don't think will any time soon, I'd like to see relative unknowns step into the roles. Keeping it low-key is in my opinion essential to the feel of the Phantasm series--particularly the first film.

I gotta go with the popular answer and say unknowns; not only would the film seem more "real" that way but they could actually search for guys who could do the original cast more justice than established actors

I would definately want unknowns. They actually become the characters and make it more believable, whereas known actors make the characters become them. *cough**cough* Tom Cruise*cough**cough*

Unknowns for the leads. Totally. ...and cameo's by existing members. F'rinstance, Sally could be played by Paula Irvine...

I would want all the principle characters to be unknowns. However, a few known actors in small roles would help give the production street cred beyond us loyal fans. As much as I hate to say it, most people in the movie-going age group haven't heard of Phantasm, even if they're into horror.
