Great interview, thanks for sharing! Good to hear they're still working on effects; I guess that means the dodgy 2D animated blood and explosions could just be pre-vis stuff... Fingers crossed! Also I love the idea that the movie will probably pick up at the end of Phantasm 4. Of course, that also means it takes place within a few days of the end of Phantasm 3, and the actors have obviously aged more than a week I wonder if they will address that continuity issue. Perhaps something like Phantasm 2, which picks up right after One, then jumps forward a few years?

Sounds like we still have some time to chew on this, starting to sound like a fall release.

It's good to see that they are still working hard with the special effects! I also get the feeling that the whole crew has put a lot of effort to make this look as good as possible so the fans could be happy after the long wait. I appreciate that.

Sounds like we still have some time to chew on this, starting to sound like a fall release. My prediction is some sort of premier at Flashback Weekend this August. Makes too much sense with the whole cast and Don being there for the reunion, not to mention Flashback does screenings at the Midway Drive-In all the time.

But d**n, the convention is abiut 45 minutes from where I live, which isn't the problem. But that theatre is all the way in Sterling, Il, and that's a two and a half hour drive for me.

Who knows, maybe if they do decide to premier this at Flashback, they'll do it at a local theater similar to how they screened Night of the Living Dead (with the George Romero Q&A) last year.

They screened it at the Muvico, right, Tony? I only went to meet George and the cast, I didn't partake in any of the special activities... which I regret.

Yep, the Muvico right there within walking distance. There's always next time for getting in on the special events!

I think all the special screenings are always at the Muvico. Just like couple of years ago when you and I went Natalie. They had the premiere for that Full Moon short film. I'll definitely be keeping watch to see if they have Phantasm V for Flashback.

the lost Lovecraft movie? Yup. Wasn't anything special. I was a big Full Moon fan growing up, so when I found out they were showing something new filmed back in the late 80s, I was excited. It was alright to see the one time. Could have been a lot better if it was a full movie and not 15 - 20 minutes.

The author of Phantasm Exhumed said he wrote stuff in the book about the secret Phantasm Project which turned out to be V Ravager. He would not say much on what it was about but that he knew the movie starts where the last ended. But due to the the movie at one point being called "Reggie's Tales", the movie is said to skip years. With Reggie following the Tall Man from one place to the next. He's been doing this for years and explains why the actors have aged.
