somebody's probably mentioned this already. here's a few snaps of reggie in THAT LITTLE MONSTER, filmed in the early '90s.

Very cool! I've not seen this... any good? i would say not. about the only things it has going for it are the detatched performances and TWILIGHT ZONE-y feel. underneath all the "weirdness" is a simple story of a woman babysitting an alien toddler which plays out exactly as you might imagine, and feels twice as long as the 50 minute running time for that. you've seen it all before. there's even a restaging of the ed van sloan curtain speech from FRANKENSTEIN (delivered by forry ackerman) for no real reason, and pieces of a '30s bob hope picture playing on TV -- an aged hope cuts in during the end credits with several (presumed) jokes. reggie -- appearing for only a few minutes -- emerges unscathed, but i expected that.

"That Little Monster" was created and directed by Paul Bunnel of "The Ghastly Love of Johnny X" fame (which also casts Reggie in a fun role). If you understand Bunnel's penchant for the older era of movie making, his projects make a little more sense, but there wasn't enough Reggie in this one to save it for me. On the other hand Ghastly is kind of fun if you like 50's sci-fi and music.

"That Little Monster" just didn't catch on with me, although it was funny seeing Reg discussing that thing with the babysitter. I did love "The Ghastly Love of Johnny X." The whole look of it was beautiful and so reminiscent of 50's/60's flicks I used to see on the tube in the 70's (films like "The Flesheaters" and "The Mole People"). Reg was excellent in it and had lots of (much deserved) screentime. Other characters were fun and cool too. Especially loved the song "These Lips that Never Lie" song/dance routine. Went looking for a soundtrack online (none) afterwards!

I could not comment as to how it compares with LSOC as I have yet to see that. It is a really fun movie and the DVD extra's are a kick as well. I am not sure, but it might have been Kevin McCarthy's last picture prior to his passing.

Haven't seen LSOC either. Ghastly is more of a musical comedy with a Rocky Horror vibe. I went into it without any expectations or comparisons, and an open mind, and I found myself liking it more and more. The story is simple, the music is catchy. But the look of it is fantastic. Kind of like watching "Tron: Legacy"--you go into it for the eye candy and the music! Grab a popcorn and soda, kick back with the lights out and just enjoy a little 50's nostalgia.

I recently picked up LSOC at the flea market for a buck, I'll need to check it out soon.
