Beyond the obvious question of WHEN will Ravager be released, is there any word at all on HOW Ravager is going to be released? I assume it'll probably not be a theatrical release, although I certainly would see it on a big screen if possible. Is it going to be a direct to disc sort of thing? Streaming video only?
My guess is both disc and streaming, but that's just an assumption. If it is disc, it makes the history of the series interesting as far as its physical releases: Ravager would be on Blu-ray, I am sure, out of the gate, probably with a standard DVD release as well, making it the first of the films to be released that way. Then we've got the original movie, Lord of the Dead, and Oblivion all available on standard DVD only, but Phantasm II, which you couldn't get on Region 1 DVD for forever, available in the bare bones Universal release and in fairly recent times the deluxe Blu-Ray release. Funny how II, so hard to get in Region 1 dsic formats for so long is the only one on Blu, and the new one will likely be on Blu before the original will be, if it ever will be!

I suspect it will play out similarly to John Dies at the End's release: playing at festivals and perhaps a small theatrical "tour" of independent cinemas (with only a handful of prints), followed quickly by a VOD and DVD/BR release.

If anything at all, it'd be perfect for a premiere at Flashback. Everyone's going to be there for the 35th anniversary. What better time and place than that?

Maybe limited screening then to DVD/Blu like Return of Nuke 'Em High.
