Did no one notice the important nugget of info in the accompanying article?: "While we wait for Anchor Bay to announce release plans for Phantasm: Ravager..."
Did they just casually drop the long awaited news that Ravager finally has a distributor?

Anchor bay doesn't exist anymore. They did Phantasm III and IV in the 90s.

Anchor bay doesn't exist anymore. They did Phantasm III and IV in the 90s. It does exist. It has changed hands and been rebranded a couple of times, and it no longer owns the rights to some of its old library, but it still exists. Here's the Anchorbay Entertainment "News" page, including info on current and upcoming releases: www.anchorbayentertainment.com/News.aspxI strongly suspect Bloody Disgusting's talk of Anchor Bay releasing Ravager was just an example of assumption and bad journalism, however.

I strongly suspect Bloody Disgusting's talk of Anchor Bay releasing Ravager was just an example of assumption and bad journalism, however. Yeah, sadly. The briefest Google search would've helped the poster out so much. The Anchor Bay rumor is practically ancient, no longer applicable and the saga of the trailer leak is well-documented online.
