What exactly was the Tall Man's plan in this movie? It seems like he's just playing around with the heroes, taking the form of Alchemy to infiltrate them to his amusement. He doesn't really seem to care what happens to Liz (despite what she thinks), like he gives her to the cremation guy but when he gets his hands on her himself he tries to make her into a zombie. It seems to me like he just thought of Liz as a pawn to use in his "game" with Mike, seeing how he reacts to what he does to her. He knows he's going to win, so he takes risks (like turning into Alchemy) to make things more interesting.

I always felt that the Tall Man was trying to use Liz to get to Mike. I always took it that the Tall Man knew that some people have the inherent ability or awareness or psychic power or whatever to sense him and his actions and so he wants them killed. But of course, he loves the game! Kidnap Liz's grandparents and Liz comes to him. Liz comes to him, so Mike follows to save her. Two birds with one stone. Of course, all while also going about his business of raising the dead.
I don't think Alchemy was a plant. I think she got taken by the Tall Man when she found the hearse.
