I was just thinking about the Phantasm/Star Wars connections... you know, the dwarf/Jawa similarities - the Tatooine looking desert in P4 and the Captain Phasma Force Awakens name drop...
With all that, I could see the possibility of Mike becoming the new Tall Man, as hinted at in P3 and P4. It kind of seems similar to Anakins journey to the Dark Side, Mikes journey to the Tall Man...
If this is the case and Mike is the new tall man, they could possibly carry on making Phantasms using Mike as the new antagonist.
What does everyone think of this? I personally hope Ravager ends on a satisfactory note and we don't need more parts... although I would much prefer Mike as the new Tall Man then reboots or replacement cast again god forbid ;p

I personally wouldn't want Mike to become the Tall Man because he's been through so much (losing his parents and Jodi, pursuing the "real" Tall Man with Reggie on the road all these years, etc) I think he deserves to have some type of normal life at the end of episode 5.
I'm not against a reboot, because Don Coscarelli would make money. And Don deserves a nice pay day from the attention a reboot would get as well as introducing new fans to the original five.
As long as Don concludes/resolves the original series (end of Ravager) before allowing another director to reboot. Had they ended on Oblivion, and never made Ravager, then I would be against someone else's reboot/ultimate handling of the Tall Man's demise, etc.

Mike becoming the tall man could be really cool in my opinion and part of me hopes they go in this direction IF they are planning more parts. But yeah if this is truly the final one, then giving Mike and Reg a happy ever after is good by me. "I'm not against a reboot, because Don Coscarelli would make money. Need Reggie back too in some form though, maybe as an Obi-Wan type character to guide the newbies... you could never replace the Reg! If Phantasm 1-5 follow Mikes journey from innocent kid to Tall man they could be compared to the Star Wars prequels. The new 5 movies could be like the Original star wars films with Mike Darth Tall Man finally redeeming himself.Okay I'm getting carried away with the star wars stuff now, I'll stop "As long as Don concludes/resolves the original series (end of Ravager) before allowing another director to reboot. Yeah I think most of us want to see a good conclusion after waiting so long. In some ways I loved Oblivions ambiguous ending, but I felt a bit disappointed there was no 'final show down' with Reg VS the Tall Man. Looks like this film at least is going to fix that. Can't wait to see it
