Who believes that all the answers from the series should be answered in P5? Personally I don't think that is in the spirit of Phantasm. I wouldn't mind having some questions answered, especially regarding the Tall Man. But I don't want a cookie cutter ending so that i sleep well at night. I want to wake up expecting to be in a graveyard with the Tall Man hovering above me.

Phantasm isn't about answers. Don can give us answers so long as he raises more questions. That's the sure-fire formula that's worked so far. Closure is for linear storylines, not Phantasm.

i would like to have a certain amount of closure to the film..but i wouldn't want every question answered. Phantasm is a film that makes you use your imagination and wonder. If Phantasm 5 answered all the questions we would hardly have any of our forum discussions! Afterall, the film isnt named Phantasm for nothing.

No closure at all. Phantasm is about answering questions while raising so many other questions.
Besides it would take more than one movie to even attempt to close out this series.

I agree 100% with what Dustin said.
I'd like to see some answers to a few questions but from those answers, new questions should arise.

I don't want the cookie cutter end all ending, tying up all the loose ends and answering all the questions conclusion. I want to be left wondering if it really happened. Actually, as long as the movie ends with Angus saying "Bbbbooooyyyy" and the Phantasm theme music, I'll be happy.

some answers but not everything. it would lose that special touch it has if everything was tidied up.

I'd say yes, like everyone's been saying so far I want some answers, but there should still be some unexplained mystery. What I do NOT want is another downer cliffhanger. Scary surprise at the ending ala Part 1 is fine, but nothing like the sequels pull .

no cliffhanger ending. but answer 50% of the questions but leave 50% open
It would be kind of cool if it ends with the gang finally thinking they have finally one. but when the screen fades to black you can hear faint footsteps and then a sinister last laugh for The Tall Man.

I think an ending like P2 would be appropriate in a sense. Like someone else said let them think they've won then have the Tall Man show up at the very last minute and end it there.

I'd rather MIKE show up as the tall man as the surprise at the end! ;D

To me that is what makes Phantasm superior to others films. You just never know for sure and it leaves you with a million ways things could go.
I can't say I've ever seen another movie series that is like that.

I've had more conversations regarding this set of films than any other movie I've watched. Closing all holes will end the talk about it. The only way to truly understand these films is to decide for yourself.

I want at least some kind of closure. At least SOMETHING significant should happen, otherwise, what's the point of continuing? That would be my best definition to closure in Phantasm movies.

Even if there was full closure....this would just open up a start of an entire new chapter. So....hopefully it will be an ongoing series.....are you listening Don?

I don't mind closure but there should always be an opening left for more. This may sound kind of stupid but after seeing Phantasm II for the first time way back when I thought it would have made a good TV series. Now even with Phantasm 5 in the works, I wouldn't mind episode like content based on the Masters of Horror.

I've always thought Phantasm would make a fantastic TV series along the lines of LOST. I could really see that being terrific. I mean, Supernatural is practically a Phantasm II-ripoff and it's doing great! Well... maybe not ripoff, but giant homage.

A Phantasm TV series would be great. I'd be tuned into my TV for that. Perhaps it would help restore my faith in modern television as well.

A TV series, or... a miniseries (like Kingdom Hospital) would be awesome for Phantasm! But how long would it last, and how much time would it take up? Reggie and Angus are big cult stars now ya' know!
