What I think i want is a movie that gives the answers, but isn't easy to decipher. A bizarre but final ending. Isn't that what P4 was for? Well to me it isn't. We still don't really have much of a clue as to what the Tall Man's true goal is. Simple world domination? Add to that they aren't even close to defeating him. And we don't know exactly how Mike ended up the way he is. What I want is these questions answered.. but it should be left up to the viewer to solve the puzzle and unravel the truth.

It's true that at the end of Oblivion, they haven't defeated the Tall Man. But I feel like if a part V is never made, the ending is still a good one. The way I take it is that they may have to fight the Tall Man through an infinite timeloop, but now they are starting to give their past selves (circa 78) vital information to better do so. So even if we don't see it, the implication is that this time, the loop will be different. I've always thought Phantasm would make a fantastic TV series along the lines of LOST. I could really see that being terrific. I mean, Supernatural is practically a Phantasm II-ripoff and it's doing great! Well... maybe not ripoff, but giant homage. I hadn't thought of that, but great idea! I'd still like to see a Phantasm V first, but if they were going to reboot the series, I'd much rather see a TV series than a movie. Is Supernatural worth a watch then?
